If you got to travel with any companion, who would it be and why?

Hmm.., I haven't seen many, but out of the three I have seen probably Rose or Martha. I think Martha tbh. We could nerd about books together.


Which DW monster/alien would you be most afraid of and why?

Hmm... That would have to be weeping angels right? Then again, those gas mask people may have unnerved me more than the Angels.

Have you watched both New Who and Classic Who? If not, are you planning to eventually watch both? If yes, do you have a preference for one or the other?
Well, I've watch only a bit of New WH ho, up so season four. And I've seen the first two episodes of Classic Who, and I'm going to watch more.

Have you watched any of the spin-off series?
no I have not. I would like to watch Torchwood one day though.

Do you own any DW merchandise or have plans to get some?
No. Cry. unless you count half a TARDIS necklace that my friend has the other half of. I would like to get some though.

Have you ever been to a convention or other fan event?

Sorry for double posting, but there haven't been any posts for ages!

So I've started watching classic Who, and got through the first two seasons just fine. Unfortunately, most of seasons 3 and 4 have been lost. I read through the Wikipedia articles for each of the missing episodes in season 3, and watched a couple from season for. (Man cybermen have changed...) So I've now finished the 1st Doctor, but all the arc in season 4 are missing episodes, so I'm not able to get into the 2nd... Does anyone know if there's like an animated version or something? I know that's been done before, I watched a couple of animated episodes in season 1.

"The Moonbase", "The Ice Warriors", and "The Invasion" are the only Troughton stories that have been released with animation, I'm afraid. You can watch the LCP reconstructions, though, which use tele-snaps (still photos), surviving clips where possible, and the original audio to reconstruct all the missing episodes. Or if you can find the CDs, there are audio-only soundtracks you can listen to that use the original audio along with linking narration from surviving cast members.

Or, if you're like me and work better with reading than listening, you can "watch" the episodes by reading the transcripts. That's what I've been doing for the most part, then I go to the recons or Wikipedia only on the rare occasion that there's a scene where I feel like I need extra help understanding what's going on. (Or, more often, for the scenes that I'd simply like to hear as well as read, such as the 2nd Doctor's recorder playing. ^^) There are also novelizations you can find of all the stories, if you prefer that over reading the actual scripts.

So.. I said biology in the title for a reason! So we know that the Doctor has two hearts, right? But what about how they beat? I've seen people answer this with an echo system (bom(bom)-BOM(BOM)), allowing one to stop as they beat in sync, yet he can survive albeit with difficulty. I've seen answer thats they beat independently with their own partially separate circulatory systems, allowing one to fail only weaken the Doctor and give him a limited ability to save himself if one fails. I've seen theories both hearts are fully formed and that both have only two chambers.

What do you believe? Don't go just yet! I'm not done with this part of the discussion post yet.

What about his physical capacity to stand near-constant change in time/galaxy/universe/timeline/etc?! Speaking of this, that might bring up River Song. I don't know much about her yet (need to get back on netflix and find the series again to further analyze for discussion and theories), but I know she has been genetically modified by the Church of the Silence, and has regeneration innate abilities due to being born within the time vortex (aka Untempered Schism). That's about it.

Anybody have any ideas they want to discuss? Post them here!

Most scared of..? Weeping Angels scare me the most, I'll admit. Vashta Nerada gave me nightmares, but I'm beyond paranoid about angel gravestones now.. Weeping Angels made me a winner of many staring contests..

I've seen some of the classics and a majority of the newer seasons. I prefer David Tennant - or Tenant, I forget - best, though, and watch that season a good amount!

The Doctor's hearts... I have no idea tbh. I alway kinda thought they were just like ours, except two of them. *shurgs*
And I don't know anything about River, because I haven't met her yet. I'm just started season four. (So hopefully I'll meet her next time my friend and I have a Doctor Who binge watching day. )

Any tips on what to make the background? I was thinking a night sky with a quote in it, but that could be really hard to draw... My brother suggests a beach, and my Dad suggests an alien city in the distance. Any ideas?

I haven't actually met either Amy or the Silence, but I have heard about them. (And I've also heard that Rory is better than Amy. XD) I'm only up to series 4, but very much enjoying it.
