Team Shadow Prowlers Day 4
The sun is just rising over the horizon as you walk around the silent camping ground. Without thinking your feet follow the path down to the Narakari meadow. The shock of yesterday is still somewhere on your mind and so you decide to check on your and your teammate's trusted companions. Between shiny fur and crystalline horns your eyes make out a small figure, sitting in the dewy grass. In the pale light of the morning her hair looks nearly black and her clothes look even more tattered than normal. It's the female from the Shadow Prowlers. You stop for a second, considering if you should come nearer and start a chat. She - as well as the man - had been tight-lipped and exclusive during the last days. But it's too late, she already heard your steps: Her head bobs up, black eyes darting in your direction. Hastily the woman comes to her feet, a sketch block and charcoal pen pressed to her chest.
"It's impolite to sneak up on others", she snaps at you, ripping the top sheet off her sketch pad. Without further words she hands its over to you and walks away. "It's a sketch of your Narakari, so I figure you would want it. No need for thanks, I don't need them anyway. Just watch your step tomorrow. I might decide to sneak up on
you this time."
You open your mouth to shoot back a indignant comment but she is already vanished between the tents. How can these people just be so rude? Than you look down at the piece of paper in your hand...
Task 1: Drawing for another teamOur drawing is for
Three Days of Fire:
Click me!Hope you like it!
*
You're eyes ar still heavy from sleep as you poke a stick in the flames before you. The last night had been strenious and even with your companions back safe and sound you haven't had a lot of sleep. There was much to catch up and the first thing on your long, long list for today would be a decent breakfast. If only the fire would burn a bit better! As you reach out for another log of wood you see how the flames shrink and are snuffed out. Odd, there is no wind and you have carefully collected the logs. It good wood, old and dry. You lean over the smoking pile as you see motion from the corner of you eye. A slender figure is standing in the shadows between your tents, his face hidden under the huge hood. "No luck with the fire?" As he reaches up your nearly grab for your knife, but all he does is putting his hood down and looking at you with an odd smile. Did he always have black eyes? You could have sworn the male member of the Shadow Prowlers had blue eyes last night. "What do you want?" you ask him, angrily. Your fire just went out and you still haven't had breakfast - not the situation for stupid jokes.
"I thought I found something of yours." He steps aside and you see a sand-colored dog and a pale white dragon, small enough to reach up to your knees. "The horse is in the back of the tent. Stupid thing, didn't want to get near the dragon."
You stare at him, startled. "Those aren't mine."
"Well, now they are. But don't think I'm playing nice here. Seems like you'll need a dragon for that cmap fire of yours." He turns and simply walks away, leaving dragon, dog and horse with you. "Good luck for tomorrow. Break a leg!" The way he says this does not sound good at all. You rise to follow the strange fellow and rebuke him for this kind of behaviour but in the same moment he is out of sight the fire starts bruning again as if nothing happened. Bewildered you stay were you are. The dog trots towards you, licking your hand. "Good boy" you tell him, padding his neck. "Odd owner you had, hmmm?"
Task 2: Gift(s) for another teamOur gifts are for the team "The Twisted". These are the trades from Karne de Saintclaire as well as myself:
KarneSchnee*
As you walk past one of the abandoned-looking tents in the more far-off corner of the tournament ground you recognize a piece of paper nailed to one of the tents beams. Wondering if it might be an official matter you step closer and start reading:
"Dear rivals,
Against common believe we are not looking for victims but opponents. And when we entered we saw lots and lots of good teams that would have been a challenge to overcome. We all entered with the wish to win, of course, but also for the sportsmanship of a good tournament. Sweat and scraped knees, but also lonf evenings on the camp fire with telling stories of battles lost and won, dirty jokes and a good laugh here and there. Everybody who entered had a fair chance to win and the prices are amazing. Don't tell me you don't like them! The Narakaris are saddled, the tents set up. Now get into the saddle, take the reigns and ride into the sunset with the sweet taste of triumph on your tongue. It's not too late already, there are still points to achieve, especially with the big tournament coming up tomorrow. Give us some challenge! Kick some butt! Polish the swords, grease the leather and harden your hearts because we are prepared. We want to win. And we are sure you want this as well.Let's have a great time for the last days.
Break a leg or we will have to do it.
Best wishes,
Team Shadow Prowlers"
Task 3: Prep Talk for a third teamOur encouraging words are as encouraging as it can get from two evil-doers. Gosh, don't let them win! They are the bad boys, they should never win! They are directed to Team Starweavers, but more or less to all the other inactive teams as well. Go, guys!
So, that's it from us. The deadline for the PM's to help us organize the gift-giving is over so we thought we would just get things done. With your permission I would like to upload the drawing to DeviantArt. Oh and we couldn't miss the opportunity to tell you a bit more about our two characters, Karne and Ayla. You should know who you'll have to face tomorrow!
EDIT: Thanks to Karne for telling me about a horribly grammar mistake in the second paragraph!
