Well it shouldn't really be a spoiler but my nii-chan told me to right that. Anyways on the episode that jiraya dies it shows Minato making Jiraya Naruto's god father. He did it after reading Jiraya's book. Which is also the same way Naruto got his name. He was named after the main charector in Jiraya's book. The main charector was named after a type of raumen topping... so on and so forth.
