hugo. counts. as. a. book.
the movie is nothing like the book.

if you're looking for historical fiction, i'd suggest house of the spirits by isabel allende. true, it's an adult book, but then you get bragging rights to say you've forced your way through it.

does anyone have a good classic book to read? i'm working on the great gatsby but need somewhere to go after that.

Yeah, Twilight was ok, and I'm sure some of my real-life friends would agree with you about the main character XD

Well, as I said, The Host is one of my favourite books of all time, the characters are powerful and believable. I like Twilight as a story but I agree with you about the main character. But well, I still like it.

hahah! sorry for being so very rude (I'm not really like that), but it sounds like you are trying too hard to sound like the mature adult who is guarding what we, the foolish underage people, read. hah, I believe that is not what you meant, but you sure came off that way, at least to me.

I just finished the book Hush hush by becca Fitzpatrick.
And it's an amazing book, i do recommend it.
I can get a bit weird and intense some time but i would't call it mature.

i've never believed in censoring what others read, but things happen in that book that i would get banned for mentioning on chicken smoothie. some people's parents like to talk with them about what they're planning to read; i know i preferred it when i got a warning for some of the more mature content in these kinds of books.

but it's still, you know, excellent historical fiction. isabel allende is an amazing author.

^^ I do indeed agree with that thought. I personally have never talked about books with my parents because they both are illiterates. overall I feel that banning books is completely wrong. if you ban something for general access, you ban knowledge. even if that book may be horrible and full of lies (Mein Kampf for example), it is still a piece of knowledge which may let you understand the motives of this or that person. every book gives you knowledge, even the fluffy teenage romances do.
