Kow(whom i need to make a new ref of wow) and this unnamed guy are mostly monochromatic, and Handsforfeet is very much monochromatic! ;w; So's Xae I guess but thats mostly just bcus he is only one color ahaha

Do you like or dislike when characters are based off of songs, games, movies, etc.?
Nooooot a big fan idk? I guess it can be done right but usually I don't like them much.

Well, technically speaking it depends. If the colors are different shades of, say, black, then it counts. If it's just black, and white (which I just noticed in Zelk), then it's greyscale, I think. However, if it's, like, grey and black, then it could be counted as monochrome. C:

Do you like or dislike when characters are based off of songs, games, movies, etc.?
Characters based off of movies- I dislike very much. Its just plain uncreative to have your character be a copy of an existing one .-.
It makes it not yours, but someone elses in a different body. Though creating a character based off of a series (as in a fanfic oc that has its own backstory etc is a bit more creative and gets more brownie points in my eyes).
I don't keep ANY fanfic characters for that reason though.
I used to have 130+ pokemon oc's.
Got rid of every single one.
I never see Disney artists go basing their characters off of others, and I DO intend to be a professional.
For fanfic writers thats fine and go ahead. But Im not one of those people since my goal is to be as creative
and different as possible, which is why since a year ago I got rid of ALL fanfic characters and have been heavily revamping
any ones I found too cliche and whatnot :/ I had a huge debate with a Marvel artist I met up with about this, and other artists from dev and such who also intend to work in the art and writing field. You want to be a professional- don't waste time on other peoples concepts, and just make your own.
Your not near creative till you can.

If your not going to be a professional then its fine and go ahead and have your fun of course.
But no way in heck am I going to allow myself to do it . :/

The definition of monochrome is "a painting, drawing, or photograph in a single hue" x, so technically any drawing that includes any shades of gray/black/white would be included. Anything that can be considered grayscale can be considered monochromatic(black and white, or black and white and gray, or gray and black, or any other combo)! Any color scheme that includes only one hue, as stated in the definition(so basically, one color varying only in degrees of light and darkness), can also be considered monochromatic.
