does anyone know a good site for overlaying images onto gifs? i know i can do it on oie but the image always breaks and goes to this random image source thing. [if you couldn't understand that basically it doesn't work]

maybe you could try lunapic? you need to upload the gif, copy it on the site and then paste it onto an image/another gif. i can explain it a bit better through PM, if you like.
