Yeah, it's about £3, which I find easily in my various deposits of money all over the place.

Hopefully when my card is set up though, I'll buy some designs from some dA artists, hopefully griffsnuff or smoshen's stuff <3

Smoshen has some similar stuff, and they come out cheaper than griffsnuff's. While I do think griffsnuff's are better, smoshen's designs are lovely in their own way <3

I have to agree with you there. I'm not bragging or anything, but honestly, the only reason I believe I get the attention I do is because my characters ARE high quality and are also unique and different to the normal coloured-in wolves you see people trying to sell.

Now, that's ME. I respect people owning characters that use lineart, but I don't see why people sell them. It's like selling someone else's work as the art is also being bought.

No offence to anyone, that's my stance on the matter. I wish there were more high quality characters around myself, because they're interesting and I personally like to see them.

I use linearts all the time. =| Especially the one I made. I suppose my characters are low quality then.

That's not what I meant - I understand if it's your own lineart. That's totally fine. I mean, you made it, why shouldn't you be allowed to sell it? I just don't /PERSONALLY/ like people selling characters that they made with someone ELSE's lineart, even if they have been given permission. It just bugs me. But that's me. That's my personal opinion. I wouldn't buy a design made with someone's else's lineart, but other people can and I won't stop them from doing so.

I think part of the reason why characters who aren't custom are considered a lower quality is because even if the design is unique, it's often hard to make it -look- unique when you're using something premade. It even tends to be difficult to add accessories or the such without them looking not as nice as the rest of the art. that problem doesn't happen.
Save for that, I personally prefer characters not done with a lineart because they feel more as if they belong to me. ;D

I don't like using linearts for my designs, so I try to draw full refs for them.

But if the design is worth it, it doesn't mean it's a bad thing eather, like you said.
Though, it's right, an image also makes up the character, sometimes the image just doesn't seam apealing some how and the design doesn't get sold, even if it is nice.

Adding onto that, not every wolf (for example) has the same dimensions. Some are small, some are big, some have longer snouts or shorter ears, some have bigger eyes or slantier ones, etc. etc. It's nice to have variety, I think!

And yes, let's talk about better things.
Like how much I'm going to design instead of listening to my teachers tomorrow in school pfft

Well I use pre made linearts too. Basically because I cannot to save my life draw animals. A lot of people have that problem too. I'm sorry, that comment just bugged me because that's basically how I make my living on cs.
