@Alcidesune I've only read about half of tg:re, so I can't vouch for the entire :re series as a whole, but so far the ones I've read seems to be okay? there are mentions of abuse from tooru in one chapter where it explains why he decided to choose that path, and a particular scene where urie "smelled blood" from tooru (even though there were no visible wounds? I'm sorry someone vouch for this I haven't read :re in a long time). tldr there hasn't been anything that jumped out as transphobic or triggering to me aside from the abuse mutsuki received from his family member but then again, people have different levels of sensitivity regarding this topic.

^^ the smell of "blood" wasn't from a wound, but from the fact that poor tooru was menstrating (at least that's the thought I had when reading) - a couple chapters before when urie was leading tooru away, tooru clutched his stomach from the cramps, followed by a panel with dripping blood (i think the panel had a thought from him saying "out of all times, why now?")
askjxla just reading that chapter makes me feel the pain of cramps smh

Umm, this is kinda spoilers but there is a very tough spot later on for Tooru involving his being kidnapped by Torso and forced to wear a dress. You also get his messed-up backstory in those chapters.
Just on the side, I’m not trans so I don’t know, but pretty well every LGBTQ theme in :re seemed pretty well handled, like I think Sui either did a lot of research or is close with the community themself?? (Idk about Ishida’s gender) I think there might be some odd regulations regarding how homosexuals and such are allowed to be depicted in manga, or shonen, or even Jump specifically. But anyway, even as a non-trans person, I appreciated the depiction of Tooru and other characters in :re who may be trans or genderqueer.

Those events in question don't bother me too much, so I think I'll probably be alright as long as Ishida doesn't spin Tooru as 'just a confused girl' or 'just a traumatized girl who thinks ""she"" is a guy'. Thanks for the info, I'll probably drop by again once I finish re:!
