Am I the only one who seriously hates "Don't ask me what I want, just offer" character sales... -.-
Like literally, how am I magically supposed to learn telepathic skills and know what you feel your character is worth or what types of payment you are even interested in if you don't give me some sort of range of prices/payments. Grrrrr.....

I don't mind those who are like "I payed XXX" or "Around 10-500 points" or something but when a person refuses to tell you what they want or approx. how much the character is worth it just makes me so mad.

On a more positive note, I just got this beaaaauuutiful artwork of my fursona, Quinn, and ex-fursona, skyerunner.
I love these two so much it hurts.

So I've been feeling really down lately because one of my Giant Snails is dying and as you can imagine there's not much that can be done, so I brought a new character to cheer myself up and take my mind off of things:

@Foxtrot55 ah i dont like those sometimes, but ive been someone to just want offers and not have a price set xD sometimes i just have a hard time putting a value on my characters? I know i wont use them but i dont want to give them up for something i'll regret. Sometimes-its impossible to come up with a value for them due to emotional connection, even moreso when i drew most of their art- i struggle to put a price on my own artwork just for commissions. Though i have exactly what ive paid for them on their pages when people offer. do agree people shouldnt tell people 'dont ask me' though, i'd never be bothered by someone asking anyway even though im not good at setting a price

The thing is, 9/10 times, if you say "I'm looking for 10-500 points for this character" people are going to offer the minimum because no one wants to pay more when they can pay less?? Usually when people ask you to "just offer" it's either because
1) they don't actually know what they want/what the character is worth
2) they want to see if others think the character is worth more than what they think it's worth/want to see what others are willing to give.
Again, you wanna get the most for what you have. Practically no one wants less.

Usually people will have a basic list of what they'd want (ie, "only looking for points and list pets") in that case, just offer what you think it's worth (or a little less) and negotiate from there.

Ok, after 6+ hours of sorting roughly 5000 photos (characters, drawings, u name it) on my computer into 11 groups at 1 am I need to treat myself. I'd like to have some Survivors OCs but I'm not sure whether to order them or to make them myself. With myself I get exactly what I want, I don't have to pay anyone, and I can make as many as I want. Then with someone make them for me are they'll probably do a better job than me, and I'll have to pay them in art and my 1 rare pet (2009) for HQ refs/designs. Ugh.
