Anyways, I have a question of my own. It's something that is really curious to me, given how often I've seen it happen, here and on DA and I wanted to see all of your opinions on the subject. <3

What do you do if someone approaches you and asks you to change a design/ character you really really love because they feel the design/colors are too close to theirs, regardless of whether or not you think they're completely different?



Personally, if I'm completely in love with the character, I just kind of politely tell them that I personally do not see nor feel that there is such a big similarity between the characters to warrant my changing mine. ;; If they get mad at me, I suppose that's the way it's going to be, but I personally don't feel that I have to change a character I really love if I cannot see anything similar between mine and there's; especially if it is only something similar like a color palette. You can't really own colors. Maybe that makes me a horrible person, but oh well, I guess? ;;
But if they are actually way too similar/ I wasn't content with mine, I'd change it.

Ah i fall in love with charas based on their characterization, not their design, so i would neverbe bothered by changing design? Tbh i'd be more akin to 'GOOD I DONT WANT A CHARA LIKE YOURS ANYWAy ill just make mine better
the only time i think i'd be angry is if it was over something really dissimilar or something super minor/overused anyway ?
