I had fun today at NZCC, got two more days of this though
And I don't have to wear my comp piece for two days which is also good.
So Evie tomorrow, just a rewear, though I styled the wig a little differently to line up a little more with the second movie, even though the outfit is movie one, XD.
Constance Monday
I'll let you all know if I win anything.

My friends and I were an odd group today
Karma from assassination classroom
Kaylee in her big ball dress from firefly.
Evie from Disney's Descendants
a vampire
and someone who wasn't cosplaying.
our kaylee got stopped a lot for pictures, (probably not helped by the fact that two firefly stars were guests this year)
Cosplay cup/comp tomorrow. one more day.
Never again' I murmur as I start planning for auckgeddon in october. as I have two love live cosplays I need to do for that. I'm not currently regretting my life choices at all. hahaha.

Dude, good luck.
I just finished my first year of my fashion degree and I'm so burnt out. I've decided I'm not doing any new cosplays for a long while, maybe until Christmas break. /Possibly/ a Killer Frost from the Cw Flash Tv Show or Cheryl Blossom from Riverdale for San Diego Comic Con because that's the biggie but since I'm traveling there, and probably waiting in lines most of the weekend, I don't know if I really want to mess with /anything/.

I have white day Maki and Angelic Chika to do for auckgeddon, in 4 months.
and I can buy one of them, or at least most of one of them it'll just be a bit expensive. I'll be stuck doing two sets of wings though.
Comp went okay
Both catagories were pretty cut throat, I knew that going in though
The person that won was a Mercy in the novice catagory with wings that actually moved.
so didn't have much chance up against that.
Props seemed to win out this time :(
Which was strange considering we got hit hard with a prop ban this year, though the organizers are trying to sort it.

I don't really do weapons so I'm not the person to ask. I'm not a prop person for the most part. the last big prop build I did was for Honey Lemon a couple years back.
Welp I've been talked into joining the
orange Hanayo swarm for NZCC (aka donutgeddon/STAR Labs pipeline con) in 2018 And I'm gonna be part of the transformation group which have the orange open up to show another outfit. So this is gonna be an interesting build. But for now I have Angelic Chika and Halloween Mari to work on for Auckgeddon. As well as my wings for white day Maki.

Finally, I find some cosplayers!
I was wondering what everyone's opinions were on BUYING cosplays instead of making?
I've only been cosplaying for 5 years or so, and usually I make (not well but it's the effort that matters) but this year I haven't got the time or energy really, so I'll be purchasing it. Do you think that makes a cosplayer lesser or is it fine in your opinion? I'm going to be cosplaying Mio Akiyama from K-On!, so the costume is really simple, but still, I kind of feel guilty, I guess.

Not in my opinion, it depends on the community you're cosplaying in as well as the indervidual cosplayer.
I've been buying a lot of my outfits recently but the stuff I've been getting has been things like Uniforms, which are usually cheaper to buy because of all the custom fabric and things like patches i'd need otherwise.
I bought my white day maki set, (which came with all the accessories (minus the wings) and was custom sized). One to save myself time and stress, two so I could recommend the store to others in my group.
I still have halloween mari to do and Angel chika to start and get to comp standard.
