At first I thought it was a bug but now I get the feeling that a local group of team mystic was cheating.
I was trying to train a fellow Valor gym and get some potential pokecoins. But mystic took over so I tried to take them down, but whenever the battle start it would kick me back to the gym lobby. I eventually defeated them and then put my Pokemon in to claim for red. It stayed like that for a few minutes and then all of a sudden my Pokemon wasn't in it but also didn't need a revive or potion.

The game is really buggy so I think it's a glitch

This is certainly a bug. It's been around since the release. They managed to fix the 1 HP bug but not this one so far. I hope they fix the 3 step bug before they fix this, though.

I really wish that they had kept the pokemon tracking system that was in the beta, where instead of showing 1 - 3 footsteps it would show you your distance in meters. That makes it much easier to figure out whether or not you're going in the right direction. With the footstep system we often end up spending too much time trying to figure out which direction to walk in that by the time you have a rough idea of where it is, it despawns.

I've resorted to using PokeVision and I'm currently setting up a better version some Redditor made. I won't consider it cheating until Niantic provides a better alternative to the current tracking system.

Dunno why but I happen to constantly hatch Mankey from 5 km eggs... I'm not complaining about it since they're pretty tough to find around here, but it is pretty odd..
Pretty upsetting too, since I have 49/50 candies needed to evolve one .-.

It's a percentage chance so it's possible... although there are a lot of pokemon that you can get in the 5km egg so that's pretty rare to get the same ones over again.

I made the mistake of evolving my Eevee at only level 8... (The name thing works though, I named it Rainer and got a Vaporeon)

my 5km egg was about to hatch today (like the screen popped up with the egg and "Oh?") but my phone froze and when I got back on, the egg was gone, I got no new Pokemon, and one of my uses in my incubator was used up! It made me soooo mad!!!!

Omg. Something similar happened to me today! I have the app on the battery saver setting, and now when I put my phone in my pocket and it tips upsides own it turns the screen dark but the app still runs to conserve battery power. I guess it's like a bug, but every once in a while while I flip it back up and the screens lights back up I still can't click anything, like it's unresponsive and I have to restart the app. Today it did that when the egg popped up. Ugh. I also got no Pokemon and the egg disappeared. 5k. Down the drain. Grrrrrrr!!!!
