Classic series convention says that Time Lords have thirteen regenerations, fanon + that bit in SJA + Word Of God say that the Time Lords gave themselves more regenerations during the Time War (since it was a constructed number they came up with in the first place), logic says that Doctor Who is a giant moneymaker for the BBC and therefore they will keep it going for as long as possible.
Yea, pretty much. Besides that, I think BBC would get in a lot of trouble from DW fans if they ended the series.

As someone said (I forgot who xD) it is a huge money maker for BBC and also, well, we might just have to you know, do something really really bad to BBC if they ended it. I think they'll just get rid of the regeneration limit because it seems they havn't mentioned it for a wile anyway. But I wouldn't know because I have only watched it from series 6.

The SJA episode was called 'The Death of the Doctor' and has two of the Doctor's old companions in it, Sarah Jane Smith and Jo Grant (who got married since her time with the Doctor and is now named - what else - Jo Jones. This show has a serious fixation on Smiths and Joneses; Clive is also a Jones, unrelated to Martha Jones, Harriet Jones or Ianto Jones).
