whaat would you do if you bought a desighn and then though the person still might be using it? also if you found art in their gallery would/should you ask if you can use it?
I would ask them not to use it. They sold the design right so that meens any continual art of it should go to you for use at the very least due to you owning said design. As for the 2nd half I have done this, I bought a design and found out it was from a draw to adopt contest and its winner had extra art of him that I didn't know about. I would ask for it, it is your design now after all.

I would ask them if I could use it. In response to Lirre, I don't understand why a person would want to hoard all the art for it? I get that they may feel bad they paid for it or something and didn't recieve enough money/currency from the buyer to warrent giving the art away. Which in my opinion is selfish and a waste of beautiful artwork, but that is their choice. Ask them if you feel they are still using the character. Maybe they are keeping some art if they designed the character or made the art. That makes sense to me. I still have the actual pictures in a gallery of somewhat of characters that i either designed or the art I made whether or not I still own the character. But I don't use it. I do put who the design is owned by. Same way that I can do gift art or requests and have them in my gallery.
I think these kinds of things are why I'm often very reluctant to buy designs/characters from people I don't know well. Good luck

its art they drew and this morning i woke to there be new art of a character with the same name, the flowers where a small bit diffrent so idk and she had more sketches as well. im kinda scared of the artist though shes know to snap at people sometime and it was tense even getting her to agree to let me use the ref.

idk if their using her pervious design and wont until they finish the art because they said they still wanted to use the name and made me change it.. But it look a bit similar though flower crowns arnt all that unique. I need to find a way to ask though if i can use the previous art.
