Guys, this isn't the 'Advertise your semi-literate+ RP HERE!' thread. ;) (Though someone ought to make that).

Anyways, I'm trying to figure out a good length for forms. I usually do high end semi-literate requiring a ten line paragraph at the very least per post.
Apparently a short form is the sign of a non semi-lit though. >_> I prefer them, it makes the waiting that kills RPs much short. And besides, who really needs to know about each individual birthmark your character has?
But a longer form might keep out non-literate RPers from trying to join. Hm...

Lol you're right of course. It is sometimes easier to quote intros than try and make a synopsis that does it justice though XD

Personally I find basics [i.e. name, age, gender, phys desc., personality, maybe history] does the job. Typically I judge by quality as well as quantity, but there's a point where things get rather ridiculous.
Just make the form however long you think is necessary. You never HAVE to accept the person just because they make a form, else you wouldn't make a form and would start RPing immediately. A form is somewhat like an audition in my eyes at least :3

You should make that thread XD
Hmm, I feel like a Wonderland RP with a twist. Currently thinking up a plot though, cannot seem to do it >.< I suck at making plots sometimes.

Awesome!
Wait, which Wonderland do you mean? I'm talking about the Wonderland Murder one.
Though I have been wanting an Alice in Wonderland as well XD I feel like Alice more then just Wonderland. XD I change my mind too fast. Not many people know about the Wonderland Murder though, and I haven't seen any...
There are several Alice in Wonderlands. None of the ones I've seen were Semi-Lit or interested me though XD.

The age of technology has struck, everything works logically and scientifically. Imagination is spent on creating even more new technologies that are slowly becoming more and more independent. Underland has been divided once again. Alice, The Red Queen and The White queen have joined sides. The armies of each side don't tend to get along and are prone to fighting against each other but also against it.

What is it? I hear you ask. It is everything and nothing, it is light and dark, it is the end and it is the beginning. It is a curse. It's slowly destroying Underland. As the world becomes less and less imaginative, there is little need for Underland and imagination. We’re slowly being destroyed by the darkness. Within the darkness are a variety of beasts, mutated half-formed beasts that people stopped imagining half-way though. These beasts believe they can gain the other half of their souls by eating Underlandians.

The darkness is created by minds that believe they are thinking logically, and so the white rabbit chanced to the Earth and bought the most logical thinkers down the rabbit hole to reignite their imagination.

You are ruled by one of the three queens – Alice, The Red Queen or The White Queen. You aim to find a person who has fallen down the rabbit hole and bring back their imagination by showing them around Underland!

If you fell down the rabbit hole –
You are a very smart and logical thinker – you believe in science and maths and have no time for imagination to run wild. You like to take a logical approach to things and a deck of cards that can walk and talk is definitely not logical... Your sole aim is to try and get out of Underland... Because you think it’s madness.

I personally don't think a form should be looked at as an 'audition' :/
I also don't really like it when it is answered from character's perspective, because it isn't an interview. It is a form about your character, so people know what to expect and to help the creator get into the character more easily, and have the concept of the character figured out. To me, that's what the form is for and I don't think it should be for much more than that.
Of course I too judge people's literacy based on forms, but not as much by length, more by quality (I myself don't like writing out a detailed form, because sometimes I don't want to reveal much about my character 'till later in the rp) and the effort that went into the form, because semi-lit+ rpers tend to make them prettier than non-literate ones. And at the end, if I have any doubts I'll just scroll through their previous rp posts and see if they fit the rp or not. /....end rant/

Personally, I really hate forms. I Tend to make my personality for the character to for the role-play, so not a lot of the time can I copy/paste personalities. They take up a lot of my time, and often my reserved spot I'd given up because I cannot make the form in time/it's not pretty enough.
Not everyone knows how to make it real pretty...
And, I like to develop my characters as I go, like in a book. So, I believe just the important things should suffice, and give a writing sample to show you are indeed semi-litterate.
I guess there's a lot of ways you could think about it .3.
