So I was watching some of the original Voltron and was shook to find out that Romelle and Sven were in love/married (according to Sven's wikipedia page) , I didn't remember that at all or maybe I never got to see those episodes but I found it to be super sweet and I'm now in love with the concept even though it doesn't really work in Legendary Defender seeing that Sven only appeared in one episode and MIGHT'VE died. It would be a fun thing to play with though seeing that Sven is from another dimension and anything in there could be different from the main one of the show.

Also has anyone else noticed how the original show likes to SAY that a character ended up being perfectly fine in the end, but doesn't show it? I'm not entirely sure but I think them saying that was probably added into the dub or something considering the show was originally in Japanese (I think) and from my experience watching anime the Japanese versions for some tend to be a bit darker than American versions, so perhaps they added them there to avoid kids knowing character actually died. Sometimes the paladins reactions to the character being 'unconscious' are way too dramatic, granted it's an old children's cartoon and they tend to do that sometimes, but it's part of the reason I think that when the narrator says that the character was 'okay and living happily' the character actually died.

I DO NOT recommend the original Voltron if you’re looking for you know, an interesting story. It’s good if you like to laugh I suppose. But seriously? The whole damn thing is a meme. Pidge sounds like a smurf(and is male of course) Sven does in fact have the accent, and just... everything. I couldn’t handle it.

i remember seeing vids classic voltron dubbed over new vld and they were amazing lmao. The best ones were probably the ones where everything is the same but shiro is sven haha. I can't find them now and Im mad

I really just watch it for the nostalgia, a good laugh, and to see if there were any details or characters I had forgotten about because I grew up with it. Like for example I wasn't aware that Sven and Romelle was a thing either because I forgot or child me never got to see those episodes idk lol
The original Voltron is pretty good for a laugh though because for me it's so bad that it's good/enjoyable.

i used to love this show but due to stuff that happened anything voltron-related has become a huge trigger for me and it upsets me to see it in my posts list.
