Woop, joining time c:
Hi! My name is Scarf. I am a terrible terrible nerd and I want to join for obvious reasons.
My favourite doctor is: Two. He is an adorable, childish hobo with a heart of gold and a manipulative streak a mile long.
My favourite companion is: THIS IS A HARD QUESTION. I have the most feeeeeelings for Donna (who is bold and abrasive and full of insecurities which make her a fascinating character for me), Sarah Jane (who I am hopelessly in love with, because she's independent and strong and clever, and loves chipping away the Doctor's bad moods), Jamie (who is adorable and loyal and the best sort of person) and Rory (who is a perfect human being). I'm also fond of Jo, Zoe, Leela, Harry, Amy and the Brig (+the rest of UNIT).
My favourite episode is: The Doctor's Wife. I ship that ship <3 <3 So very much.
I have watched up to: All the new series, a couple of First Doctor stories, the Movie, a couple of Sixth Doctor stories, a Seventh Doctor story and everything from the beginning of Two's run to The Invisible Enemy. I'm working through everything and
liveblogging a bit >>
And finally, I am from 'straya mate. Long live the ABC <3
I have read the rules and promise to follow them.
Code: Nibblybibbles. Buggered if I know what that's for but ok :P
Anyway, I'm a fan of Moffat and RTD (though it's important to remember that neither of them write every episode in a series). I find Moffat's writing more consistently absorbing and terrifying, which I like. I like the complexities. I found that RTD built things up too big at times and then they just fizzled to a bit of a cop out (like at the end of series three). When Moffat does that he lampshades it like mad and I appreciate that ("deus ex machina ending? Of course it's a deus ex machina ending!"). But then RTD wrote Midnight and that was an amazing episode that I loved.
So yeah, both.
I think the show is prettier now though. The visuals and camera techniques and the music have really improved from the start of Moffat's reign.
