Mhm. When you do get the bridle on her, walk her around a bit. She needs to get used to it. Give her some treats periodically when she does the right thing as positive reinforcement.[Find out what her favorite treat is if you haven't already..] The way to most horses' hearts is through their stomach. After 30 minutes of doing this, put her up until the next day. Repeat the procedure until she is comfortable with the bridle.[This can take a while depending on how she reacts.]Remember to use kindness and soft hands. Abused horses can be fearful, and they need love and gentle people to make that fear go away. She seems a lot like my new thoroughbred Rosie. She is very skittish because she came from a horrible thoroughbred farm, but now she has gotten some confidence back. I'm currently working with her to get her used to the many duties that she must perform. I have only been with her for a month and she's already jumping. You honestly don't need a trainer to send your horse to. I have been training horses, particularly Thoroughbreds, for a year now. I am pretty good when it comes to delinquent or fearful horses. PM me for more info if you need it.

@cheesie - If we had oats XD. But she really enjoys bread and 'Mega Horse' vitamins. She still isn't sure about people.
@Zax - See, Clancey was my first horse; He's a thoroughbred and he is seriously lazy. He will not jump. But his previous owner was training him in dressage, so i geuss it's natural that i'll have to train him in jumping.
But with Fonny, she is no easy simple horse. I've tried alot with her. But i don't have 30 minutes a day to spend with her. After school i am so tired. Once i've re-energized it night time. So basically i have weekends only. But maybe i can make up for it by doing the bridle training in the morning, in the afternoon, and same on sunday. It will work differently, but maybe it will bring her into it.

You could try using a hackamore. I've known horses that didn't respond well to a bit or wouldn't take it, but if you put a hackamore on them they will work happily just because they don't have something in their mouth.

Hmm, maybe. I know i won't push her too hard. I'm almost just as afraid of her as she is of me (Confession much XS). Even if i could get a hackamore, i don't think i'd use it on her. She's almost more certain to react well to a bit than a hackamore. Only because the rider i've had on her said (we had reins on her halter) she would so much better with an actual bridle.

NEW TOPIC - DISEASE AMONG HORSES:
I've only ever been to one horse show to compete. That show was about two hours away. & Clancey got 2nd in presentation (i was SOO proud of him. We would have gotten first if the 'pixie' horses wasn't competing.)
The pixie horse is a horse that goes around the whole of my area (yes, even 2 hours away) and competes in heaps of shows. The only problem with this horse is it's freakin perfect. It's just beautiful, It's really well trained, and it's a palomino.
My horses are still ok, no signs of Hendra Virus.

The only thing I would suggest is to make sure you wash your hands frequently. The one horse you were talking about earlier that you though might be showing signs of it, I would seperate him from the horses to just be on the safe side.
