Now that we're halfway through the event: How is everybody getting along?

It took me a few days to develop a strategy, but things are progressing nicely now. Many of my partner's hoard pets are on the more expensive side, and I was worrying a little at the beginning, but I'm diligently collecting offsite currency on FR now and spending it on pets for my partner.

Has anybody added any newly released Advent pets to their list of hoards?

I couldn't resist the temptation and have added three more hoards (of the Deer GUPPS, the Bright Dreamcatcher 2nd Gen GUPPS and the Jayfrost PPS dogs). They appear to be easy to trade for. Dear Secret Santa, I won't be collecting any pets for these hoards myself, so you can go wild with them.

i think i'm doing pretty well for my first year! i'm almost half-way to my end goal, so that's a plus

i've counted 13 pets so far from this advent alone that i'm hoarding. i need to slow down but there's just so many cute pets this year :c

Now that we're halfway through the event: How is everybody getting along?

I'm really happy with my progress so far!
I ended up feeling disappointed with myself last year, thinking I should have been able to give more stuff, so I've been extra determined this year.
My person has a varied wishlist, which makes it easy for me to find stuff for them, and I hope they'll like what I'm putting together.
I've set myself various mini goals to keep me motivated, and it's working well c: Haven't met my goal for the total number of pets yet, of course, but I'm confident that I'll get there.

I haven't added any new hoards to my SS wishlist, and don't think I will.
There's 3 pets I want to hoard so far from this event, but I haven't even put two of them in their own groups yet, so I don't feel like adding them.

I personally haven't set myself a goal, as is feel really frustrated if I couldn't reach it, but I've gathered a fair amount of hoardies for my SS already c:
I had some of them to begin with, and they've always been on my own wishlist, which makes it quite easy to hide what I'm hoarding for them :>

I think I'm doing really well! I haven't done quite as much searching as I'd hoped because my work schedule has been hectic, but I've got a good chunk of pets for my partner regardless and I'm happy about that! There's one hoard in particular I really, REALLY wanna work on for them but it's been evading me, so hopefully in the coming days I find myself luckier and with more time to hunt 'em down!

Guilty. I've started three advent hoards so far and added all of them to my list for my Santa! I didn't have many hoards on the list to start with, so I'm actually really glad the advent has been so good to me and has given my Santa more to look for. I hope it helps them out too!!! Hopefully they're not just like "Oh no, not another one!" lmao

I'm kinda considering adding a fourth but I haven't officially decided so I may leave it for myself to hoard later instead.

I'm getting along well! Almost hit my first goal so I'm very excited for that, especially as some of my person's hoardies are a little harder to obtain!

I have added a few already - the first day dogs, which as of now are limitless (help), two of the day 2 fennecs and a small hoard of the male lions from yesterday. I'm eyeing up some of the GUPPS as well but I want to sit on those for a bit before I go for it. I'm keeping my thread all up to date though, santa!

Despite being super busy all of a sudden, I'm happy with my progress and thanks to my new workplace I can leave a whole day early for my Christmas holidays, so I have more time in the end to collect pets.

My strategy is being super sneaky and not adding my partners hoard pets to my wishlist, haha! Thanks to the super awesome hoards that I already know of thanks to the Hoard Discussion thread I can just trade for them by memory. :D

Yes, I've started new advent hoards, but I didn't add them to my santas list, since I search for those myself.
The demand for advent pets is too crazy and I don't want my santa to feel even more stressed between searching for missing outcomes and then hunting more for me.

Hey my dear Santa - if you do need more help / ideas, I can write a letter to you. I haven't heard anything from LissaJo, so I hope my hoard list isn't too tricky or frustrating for you! You can do it, I will love everything anyway :D ♥

after intensively searching for my partner's hoardies, i have a newfound appreciation
for those pets that i was previously neutral about c: my progress is rather slow as i am,
sometimes, too lazy to search through people's wishlist and make a fair trade; i'd much
rather hunt for them in adoption centres heh, it's faster and more fuss-free too!

i'm about halfway to the current goal i have, and i really want to give my partner a big surprise
as i know these hoards mean a lot to them :") gotta start working part-time for the next
few weeks all the way until christmas eve, here's hoping that won't hinder my progress x.x

question: how sneaky are you this year?

i've been looking through some of your groups (just for fun!) to see the amazing hoards
you have, and i'm pleasantly surprised at how well you all hid your partners' hoards -
seems like almost no one will be figuring out their santas this year c: so i'm curious,
how sneaky are you? you don't have to specify exactly how you hid your hoards, of course!

I always hide groups like this between my hoards.
I try to make it not easy to find, but if somebody is really set on looking through my groups to find the gift, guess I can't stop them. To an extent, it really is up to people not to spoil the surprise for themselves. If someone wants to snoop through my groups to see if they can find my gift, and then it turns out it's for them, it's their own fault :3

I've been having the pets on and off my wishlist depending on how convenient it is. Several of them look like they could as well be my own hoards and wishlist pets.

I'm also being quite sneaky! I'm doing the same as I did last year and hiding them among my collection rather than my hoards since I have so many more collection groups. Like Ama says though, if my person is snooping through groups they'll find them and there's not much I can do about that - I understand the temptation, though I've avoided it myself so far :3
