how important do you think the first page of a comic is? is the first impression of your comic very important to you, or do you think you will easily be able to change the minds of the readers?

Hmm. Well.

Whenever I read a comic, I don't pay that much attention to the first page, I just sorta drone through it. However, if there is a first page that is especially gripping, I will be intrigued. From then, I usually pay more attention to all the little details of the comic later on, so yes, a first page is important.

A first page can also be used to show what extremes you'll go to in the actual comic- My comic is going to be pretty dark, and my first page didn't show it too well, but at least I didn't show a fluffy scene with sociable, elated characters.

But, ah well. I suppose what really matters later on is the actual plot within the comic, no?
Probably back...?

OH YEAH
I don't mean to spam but I want to bring this up too X3
I'm making the ComicStore thing again, even though I guess it's not really useful now that there's a Comic Oekaki but I like doing it because it's categorized more than the oekaki is.

Should I just do links as a comic's title, or should I do links as an image of the comic, such as a banner or something that the person would like me to use?

Ooo! Sounds cool.

I think it would be best not to include banners. They are a bit flashy and muddle up the page, as well that not every comic author has a banner, making the comics without banners seem insignificant.

But I would love to see this! c:

Well it wouldn't accept gifs, since most often Gifs usually turn into those blank images that just have the website's name on them for some reason. And it wouldn't HAVE to be banners, the images would just be the comic's cover page unless they have a special banner or another image they'd like to use instead. I just thought it would help comics get more interest in people who liked their style, instead of just the comic's name.

Personally I like the comic covers/banners to be shown rather then just text. It spices it up a bit in my opinion.
The only thing that might be a issue with the images is if someone hosted it with photo bucket or tinypic, which has a horrible tendency to get deleted.
So full of hate were our eyes
That none of us could see
Our war would yield countless dead
But never victory
So let us cast arms aside
And like discard our wrath
Thou, in faith, will keep us safe
Whilst we find the path

Oh, okay. I didn't know that cover images would also be used.

But you can do whatever you want, I don't control how you make your posts. c:

Yeah, that's why it wouldn't accept Gifs, since that's usually what happens with them XD

Sounds good to be Soul, whatever you do you know I will be first in line to get my comics on the lists. x3

And YES I have some very good news comic wise. I was having a very hard time with my Travelers page lately because I wanted to get Steven re-introduced (he's on the chapter cover, we knew it had to happen some time soon). But while I was searching through my unfinished drawing area I found a recently almost-made page I forgot about that is perfect for it. So, this wip page will be finished, and the forgotten page will be finished and posted right afterwards. A two page update soon! 8D

I think you should include the cover, just because it lets you see it a little more, instead of clicking links and going back and clicking links and going back over and over.
