Dude, same.
I kinda just backed away from Voltron after season 8, I did some fanart here and there but other than that I haven't done much for the fandom

It usually depends on who you surround yourself with. All fandoms have bad apples in them. Some fandoms have more than others, but we shouldn't let them dictate how the fandom is either. The best thing to do is block and ignore the toxic fans. Unless they're intentionally spreading misinformation, I wouldn't even bother with them. The negativity can be overwhelming, yes, but many fandoms have survived past that. Voltron can too!
Though, honestly, I don't understand why people would stick around in the fandom if they hate voltron so much? Like... okay? You can hate what you want but lol I don't see the point in staying when you have an undying hatred for the show. Especially when you're just staying because you want to bully the people who still like it. People like that need to leave fans alone, and find something else to fixate on. Its like they forgot the rest of us are people too... or they just lack the empathy or compassion to care.
We're allowed to dislike plot holes and whatever else, but still like the overall show and/or the universe it created. I wish more people would understand that. Fandoms aren't a ride or die thing.

I find that I'm not super into fandoms/discussions/ect, I just more sit back and when I get the idea, casually browse through other people's thoughts about what happened in the story. I try to avoid negative things and if someone is getting irate then I just skip onto the next thing.
On the other hand, I do enjoy when folks come together to compliment people's artwork of something in a fandom- it feels great to be on the receiving end of it and it's motivated me to do voltron art in the past. In fact, I'm almost done with another piece now that I'm excited about

We probably need a discussion question to help get things going, but I don't know what's already been asked.
