I had that bedding for my first hamster, lucky nothing happened to her. But now I use another type of bedding that's hamster safe.
I've encountered a problem with Candys cage. I think shell grow too big for the tubes, she's small enough now, but Its most likely shell grow too big. I'm going to ask my mum if we can get her a bin cage, she dosent like the idea due to certain feline members of my family(who I love but do not trust) but I should be able to persuade her. I don't want to risk Candy getting injured.
Does anyone know what best cage is that you can buy in pet shops?

The Hagen Living World Rodent Home Big is amazing in my opinion, I got 2, but I'm not sure if they are still being sold? It's a bit expensive, but it's worth it!
I have so much bad luck with tubes that I already dislike them, a lot. :S
Savic is my favorites brand for Hamster, so, any cage big enough from them would be a good choice, a Savic Cambridge or a Savic Freddy Max 2 if they are Syrians, since it's basically a Rat cage and it's not good for dwarves.
It was indeed a hard way of dying.

Ok thanks I will see if any where near me sells those cages.

I've had savic cages before for my dwarf hamsters and they were really good.

I would indeed change the bedding, I use strips of napkin for the bedding, totally safe for them, but make sure they are not colored and aren't scented, so, the right ones are the white ones, they rarely get dirty and they are really warm and less expensive.
Good luck with the search Jani! But really, any Savic is good, as long as it has enough space, never had problems with that brand.
