i get sick of scrolling through tons of illiterate posts, y'know?
1,000x yes. But in a way, I kind of look at this thread as a place where I can find a wonderful literate onexone.

@pie - hiiii, how are you?amethyst, wrote:is it just me, or do you guys also think it would be a good idea to have a separate "search for a 1x1 partner" thread for semi-literate/lit+ users?

I'm probably minority when I disagree with you ^^
I dunno, but being in this site, and the roleplaying community here,
I feel like I know those people that created the term "literate" (at least for the forums here), and the first generation of awesome forms (carrie dee <3 et al.).
With that in mind, I don't know how this term has gone from a simple identifier to an ultra-exclusive group. I'm probably being over-dramatic, but this is happening. the proof lies in the site itself; Tess and Nick had to create a seperate board for the "lits". This shows that significant amounts of "lit" roleplays are being created, but is the user population also equally becoming more "lit"?
Now, more frequently, I see roleplays in said forum be fluffy. I feel like the splitting of forums are encouraging more users to become "lit", but "literate" is not something that you can pick up on your own in a few days. Instead, fluff is often created (trust me- I am a common fluff user).
I get that a seperate topic for lit 1x1's would be a great addition, but I feel like it would not help you that much. In my opinion, the majority of the users (myself included) would not truly meet the expectations of advanced (as unfortunately, I near-failed English this year). Mostly, you would people with filler-filled content wishing to join this non-existent luxe group.
The same goes for coding on 1x1 apps. Honestly, I really hate colourful fillers on 1x1 apps. It is a resume, or a dating profile. I expect them to be like their resume (so in this case, gif-filled and over-energetic). So honestly, I do just skip past the rainbow and pastel forms with cute gifs. If you've been to past topics of Semi-Lit Club, you've read of people that are truly talented writers and awesome people (however, I am sure there are many more of those beyond that club) and many of them do not necessarily have "jaw-dropping" form making abilities (as per themselves in the past).
"Coding" and "literate-ness" capabilities are merely distractions to the writing itself. If one is good at writing, one will be recognized for it by someone. But having the most creative, colorful form and the best references will not land you in the spot you want if you cannot write as you promised.
Oookay, getting carried away. But thats just my opinion, and TBH I haven't roleplayed in a while., so my opinions are probably rusty too. So don't let any of this stop you if you are going to recommend a "lit" 1x1 topic.
