Because I'm curious, I'll throw two questions out here :U
Do you usually nickname your Pokémon?
What starter type do you usually choose?

I always nickname my Pokemon! They're my babies. I spend so much time training them and breeding them that they all must have special nicknames...

Charming the Delphox - Charming because I got a male and I thought braxien looked like a little prince. So.. "Prince Charming".
Tea the Venusaur - Because tea is my favorite drink and he's a plant.
Mittens the (female) Meowstic - I thought it was ironic because it's typically a cute kitten name and the female meowstic looks peeved all the time.
Destiny the Lapras - I got it kind of from Destiny Islands in Kingdom Hearts, also she takes me places since she has surf.
Kyuu the Jolteon - I usually name my jolteon "Uh Oh" because he's usually my best competitive battler, but I got a female this time, so yes, my Narutard roots took over and I got Kyuu from "kyuubi".
Glyphie the Sylveon - It's from "glyph" and I just put "ie" at the end to make it sound cute.
Tempo the Noivern - Ahaha... ironically, I read Rainbow Dash's post and I name all of my noibats sound/music names too. xD Tempo is just one of my favored music words.

In training:
Snowstorm the Amaura - Not creative, I just like the word.
Rosepetals the Vulpix - I wanted an elegant, flower-like name, and she's a girl.

And if anyone wants to help me... I'm looking for a good female pyroar name, a male manectric name and a male luxray name. :P

I used to always go fire, but I got mudkip and turtwig and oshawott. I never liked the fire/fighting Pokemon that much. I went back to fire this gen though.
Also someone traded me a ralts with the best nature and gardevoirite in wonder trade. I wonder if it was a mistake. D:

Usually, it depends if I don't like their name

Lucario remains Lucario because I like the name
Dedenne- Bolt because he has amazing electric shocks!!
Delphox- Blaze because he has the best flamethrower
Lapras remains Lapras though
Charizard- Char because he'll make you nonetheless
Tyrantrum remains because I like it though

And I ususally go with the starter that looks the cutest

What are you guys doing that you're finding shinies? I'm trying the tip system and I'm gonna be stuck on the couch for a bit so I'll try chaining but otherwise I got nada. Carnivine or otherwise.

Randomly running around, that's it.
Maybe it's helped that I've been grinding and trying to catch so many pokemon for Wondertrade. xD
No doubt I got into 100+ wild fights yesterday alone, since I blasted through 60+ quickballs yesterday.
But I'm certainly not doing anything special.

If I think the pokemon will be useful to me, or it's one I like, I'll name it. Normally I don't have a rhyme or reason for giving them the names I do, but when I do, it's a reference to something. My current team:

Daryn the Lucario

Leia the Pyroar - A friend of mine caught a male on her game the same time I caught mine, so she named hers Luke. Obvious Star wars referrence.

Kale the Blastoise

Narsil the Aegislash - the sword from Lord of the Rings. If it was a male, I would have named it Anduril.

Six of Nine the Zygarde - Star Trek Next gen reference. That thing is a Borg, I swear.

Xiuhcoatl the Yveltal - Nahuatl (language of the Aztec) for "weapon of destruction"


As for the starter, I USUALLY go with the grass starters. (The only exception is in D/P/Pl when I went for Chimchar.) That means I took Chespin.

Oh, and Idk if I mentioned this earlier, but I found a shiny poliwag.

Yeah, It seems like you find a LOT more shinies ingame on X or Y because I was on my first gym and I got a freaking shiny Litleo
