This is just a sketch but I'm trying to get more realist with certain things like the paws.I think I've improved a ton since 2011.Here I made this in 2011(This was my first time using paint when we didn't have photoshop.That's the reason for the suckey coloring.)-

I'd suggest working on the proportions a bit, the chest is rather big and the head looks a litrtle to small, though that might just be me

My turn;

I drew a hyena. Any crit, comments, or even a redline would be nice. This is my first digital hyena without a reference.
Spotty this is dedicated to you because every time I see your avvie I get an urge to draw hyenas o3o

Ohmai, that is one lovely hyena. It's nice to see someone draw a proper one for a change, they need love too. I love how much attention you've payed to details, especially species specific details. <3
There really isn't much I could crit or help you with, there are only a few details I'd like to point out. The wrists on the front legs are too close to the paws, hyenas have very long hands and the wrist is about two-thirds down on the lower arm down from the elbow. I think that the belly could be sloping a bit more, like the back does. One last thing, which mostly is a matter of character I think, but the face of a hyena is approximatly wedge shaped when seen from the side, kind of like a ski slope. I love the shape of the face as it is though, I think it shows lots of personallity.
I love the soft shading you used for it, it looks adorable and sweet. All in all it's really beautiful, I hope you keep drawing hyenas in the future. <3

bwerecat, I did contour lines back in 8:th or 9:th grade too, I remember it as really tricky. My project was really boring too, not as creative as yours. I like the swan^^. All the other work is lovely too, I miss working with different materials. :<

Marmoset, very cute, I like the eyes. I think the ears looks a bit wierd though, like they are stuck to the top of the head rather than a little to the sides^^.

So I did a decent job? Awesome:D
I had some trouble with the paws, yes, so I'll be sure to work on that. You can probably expect some hyena characters from me in the near future^^

Ohgosh, thank you so much for your comments on my new avatar. Sometimes I just feel great when I put wrinkles on things, especially my own Spot, hyenas tend to have them and they add a lot to expressions. I think I'm going to experiment a lot more with my expressions from now on, I had forgotten how fun it was.
Mr.Milo, "Are you serious?" was pretty much how I interpreted the look too^^.
Marmoset, I don't really see the guilty look, but thank you anyway^^.

A couple of weeks ago when I looked here someone had posted some links to websites that had prompts for quick sketches. Does anyone know the links to these, because I've decided I would quite like to try them out.

Quite some improvement going on there, but it would show even better on a drawing that's a little more finished I think^^. I love the soft looking style so far^^.

Much more than decent, it's absolutly beautiful. (Oh, I love how you fused the mane with the neck, I forgot to mention it before, but it's a really nice touch and many people forget that's how hyena manes really look.) I think that the paws is the trickiest part of any animal, I struggle with them too. And yays for more 'yeners from you, I'm sure they'll be amazing. <3
