The Naruto Universe does seem to have a few holes in it.
Like...I /swear/ I remember Tsunade telling Naruto not to use the Rasen-Shurikan because it could permanently damage his ability to use Chakra through that arm.
But He done did it like 50 friggin times more anyway.

Or the thing about Going blind due to Overuse of the Mangekyo Sharingan.
You can't tell me that Kakashi /only/ used it the times we were shown.
He may be skilled enough without the eye, but I'm sure there have been plenty of time where he's had to utilize it's abilities.

But you know, we're going to forget about this Detail in favor of Having Kakashi save everyone's rear ends when they least expected it.

naruto wikia does mention him having vision problems due to it
anyway, i can't imagine he would've been using it as frequently as, say, itachi would've with his. how often [in the course of ordinary ninja fighting, not a war, not involving anyone you care about, etc.] does one need to change dimensions? probably not super often. also, people probably would've noticed at least something if he used it with itachi level frequency, which, i don't know, i feel like having to explain that to the hokage (and also probably the uchiha clan, considering they were still alive for like, about eight or nine years after he got the mangekyo.
it--this is in general for the mangekyo--is SO OVERPOWERED that the amount of times a regular person should have to use it are pretty low.
itachi's massive overuse of it stemmed, i think, from the fact that he was 13 when he became a missing nin, and partnered with someone who was quite a bit older and probably lot more powerful. amaterasu would say look what i can do. it's also less personal than using a sword or a knife (same with susanoo, and even tsukuyomi, because it involves no actual physical damage to a person), which seems to fit with itachi's character

And now, for a random telling of which Naruto Chapter were Published during October, since we're in that month and I'm bored  .

In October 2006, the monthly edition of Shonen jump Chapters 103-105.
In October 2007, the monthly edition of Shonen jump ran 3 Chapers of Naruto; Oddly, the issue doesn't list the real chapter numbers, but lists them as 7-10.
In October 2008, Was again run into strange Chapter labeling, but as 6-9 of Shippuden.
In October 2009, Naruto ran Chapters 442 to 444 of the Naruto Shippuden Manga (which is why the previous chapter numbers don't make sense...As if they changed their system between the two).
October 2010, we got Chapters 481-483.
The October/November 2011 Issue gave us 514-516.

The Monthly Shonen Jump ceased Printing in April 2012, so this is all I can pull.
I have just about every Monthly issue of Shonen jump, From Issues 1 in 2006 to the final Issue in 2012.
