Okay, so, I just went to check Syria and the babies again (can't sleep..) and I heard friggin squeaking coming from the mouse tank.
I have two females with a male, NEVER seen them get 'sexual' because Mister Pants is a huge snuggle bug and usually only wants to legit cuddle all the girls I've ever had with him.. well.. wrong! Ariel is about to pop, and Bat had a litter of FIVE babies!
They look extremely healthy, milkbands so white you could see them in the dark (legit) and I was just like O_O WHAT.
I accidentally disturbed them to high hell, so I said flip it and took a picture of the litter since it may be my only chance to PROVE TO DAD they were born. JLFbdjkbdsk.
So, here's a picture;
Click.Okay, back on track.
Out of Syria's litter? Peace is the ONLY one with ruby eyes! And just my luck, she's going to Jennifer who is TERRIFIED of red eyes like Oliver's and only 'accepts' ruby eyes because they aren't as 'scary'! So Promise & Peace will be happily homed with them ^^
The other dark girl (Peace is a regular fawn) has BRIGHT cherry eyes and already has silvering on her face, so she's a silver fawn like her papa! And the others, ALL look like beiges. ^_^ so proud!
Also, surprised since it was a mink x silver fawn breeding, Promise looks to be Agouti & Donnie looks to be, my lord, CINNAMON! 8D!
Jackie is SO so so surprised at this (and shes a rat breeder fft) and so am I oh god.
The babies are all pouncing on each other and following Syria (I gave Promise a little grain of Syria's food, an oat I think and she friggin nommed it, I got so excited ;-; I wanted to take her out and give her a big kiss but it was too precious to watch).
I have to admit, I'm a noobie to this and I don't want anymore accidental litters.. but I DO have two PLANNED litters with my FRIENDS help, whom is a rat breeder, and whom is going to help me rehome ALL of the babies as purely pets (with the exception of her taking a few for her personal breeding stock since it seems I've been 'blessed' with good healthy genes!).
I'll probably be bashed and I'm prepared for it, but you never really realize how much you love rats until you watch them grow from birth and I want this to forever be in my life. I was seven when I got my first rat.. and many many many years later, here I am still with rats.
I take my babies with me everywhere, always have at least one rat on hand when I go to the stores (bra buddies lol, Spencer likes to hide in my bra and pops her head out and scares people) and so far I've helped teach SO many people they're actually really good pets to have. I'm so proud of my rats.
I'm putting all of them on Echinacea & Goldenseal, as I was stupid, didn't contain Sascha like I should have and she spread her sniffles ._. I'm stupid I know, and I'm a beginner I know, but with the help of my friend I'm catching it early enough.
I'm also getting a 50lb bag of lab blocks from Jackie ^_^ and that'll be my ratties new diet! Unfortunately the place I get my rabbit feed, cat food & dog food can't supply it so I need to find someone closer to home.. because it'd be a three hour drive otherwise.
But gah.
Can I just say, I'm happy/excited?! ;-;
