the only reason awesomesauce doesnt have bbcode is that phpbb blocked custom codes
because its on the free plan (phpbb isnt going to give out freebies) on forumatic

to navy -- unless as was to recode, it will be pretty hard

so that users still have to purchase a custom domain to customize bbcode c:
chikensmoothie runs on phpbb, and nick put custom codes into it to float & center images c:
eldermore runs on phpbb3, exactly like cs.
i dont know what host it works on,and the server bandwidth limit so ...
if we all move there, i assure you there will be the exact same issue going on here might happen
so unless you have a custom domain and such,
just forget about using a ton of pictures
and focus on writing

For me, images are easier to find and edit but looking for gifs gives me a challenge so I use them more.

no matter the number of members, its still going to take just as long to earn the money to pay for the new site, actually.
I do think everyone's being a bit dramatic. Coding can very well be done without a ton of pictures- just think of it as a new challenge. If you're using a ton of pictures over on AS, wolf has already said the same sort of rules may have to be enforced due to too many members posting too many pictures. As a bunch of people moved things over yesterday, the effects were already starting to trouble some people.
You can still enjoy your coding and your writing, and save your old coding, but coding isn't all about pictures either.

/to mint's off topic: coding is almost the same on Eldemore but the width of the posts are different. They're not as wide.
Also, as to what mint said on AS is right. The mods are trying to get enough money to separate from the host site they're on now. They're not sure how long it'll take, but I'm pretty sure getting more members will move it along, at least that's what one of the mods on there said.

To the coding collages: Tess specifically said we couldn't make collages or anything like that to try and get around the one picture/one gif rule. It's one only and that's it, there's no getting around it.

to all of the above, i have created a new forum,
i paid for and all.
it is under construction so far,
but runs on phpbb3
so it is exactly like cs
(with align image -- left, right, center)

no bandwidth limit (= unlimited pictures)
if anyone wants to help out and make a background, etc, let me know via pm
staff spots are for invited users, which i will decide later.

whoa, guys. i think we're all getting a bit worked up, me included.

so anyways what i was attempting to demonstrate with the gif collage was that you could have different gifs compiled into one image. tess did not ban all collages, she simply banned all ridiculously large images. collages are not neccessarily large.

rose; i do agree that it does present a new challenge. i'm not going to say i'm totally happy about that, but there's nothing to be done to change it. so you raise an excellent point - i'm going to be upset about it, but eventually i do believe i'll get over it. /dramaqueen

anyways i see my coding differently from roleplaying. to me they're totally separate. my coding is not inexorably linked to my roleplaying, nor vice versa. so although i may focus on writing good roleplays, i still enjoy coding outside of that.

i do hope i haven't rubbed anyone the wrong way.

mint; wow, that sounds so cool! sadly i have little to no html knowledge, so i doubt i'd be able to help. but please link us when you've got it up and running!
