Will we still be able to use our unused event items even once the event has ended or will we loose them?

I have a few questions regarding the valentines day event items...

1) can they be used on any Sima?
2) does the "Gift of Love" item make your Sima a very rare?
3) do you need to update your stock on The Sima Store with items from the valentines event?
4) what is a "heart shaped box" (comes with Custom Pack)? What does it do?

1. Yes, any item can be used on any Sima.
2. I wouldn't believe so, the jewel shape would just change.
3. I believe only if you don't use them during the event.
4. That is the custom, not any item ^-^
