I'm going to be cosplaying Enchantress for the premiere of Suicide Squad and I was wondering what product you guys think would be good for making my wig look stringy.
I'm planning on using a dirty blonde wig and dying some pieces black and brown but I have no idea what a good product for making them look stringy would be. Hot Topic sells a black colored hair gel that might work but I have no idea how well that would sit on a wig.

Eeeh I don't really know other than gel for wigs and gelling a few strands and such?

I’m interesting in this “cosplay”. I would like to “cosplay” my wife Michelle or my friend and colleague Joe Biden, any tips on making a realistic “cosplay”?

Alternatively, I would also like to “cosplay” anyone from Sugoi Quest for Kokoro.

Where do you cosplay? Both at home and conventions. I went to my first convention two months ago and I plan on going to many more!
Do you buy your costumes, or make them yourself? Normally buy them since I don't know how to sew but I'm actually going to make my costume for Lapis Lazuli from Steven Universe!
What was your first costume? Castiel from Supernatural two years ago. The trenchcoat's still hanging in my closet. ^-^
What is your favorite costume that you've done? Kieren Walker from In the Flesh or Remus Lupin from Harry Potter. My kieren cosplay is the most complete one that I have, with almost 2 whole outfits for the character. But I think I make a very cute Remus.
What is your favorite costume that you've seen someone else do? I saw an amazing Rose Quartz at the con I went to but I sadly didn't get a picture

I'm going to another con in October and I'm planning to have my Bucky Barnes cosplays done by then. I'm going to get an outfit from each movie and I already have 1/3! Having a bit of trouble finding a good short brown wig for cheap though if anyone has suggestions

Anyone have any tips on how to make my skin paler and clear and flawless, like Rufus's? I have a freckled face and really red naturally rosy cheeks. The rosy doesn't really stay on my cheeks, especially if I'm getting hot.

@GhiraWar,
Yeah, that's what I was starting to think I'd have to do...
Also, for your makeup, I would use two or more primers (I usually use the Nyx spray on primer, one by Urban Decay, and the lightest tint Loreal Bb cream), then use concealer in triangle shapes under your eyes, down your nose, on your chin, and wherever you have blemishes. Blend that out and your face should already look pretty flawless. I use the lightest shade cream concealer that Nyx makes. Then, mix any liquid foundation with the white makeup that Manic Panic makes. If you can't find the manic panic one, I think Ben Nye and Kayolan make a similar one but I think Manic Panic is cheaper. After that, I would set it all with a white powder. I know Nyx makes a loose white powder but I don't really like it. If you can find it, (I'm pretty sure it was discontinued) the pressed white powder that they sell at Sally's Beauty is really good. Really white. Then, I'd go in and highlight and contour to make sure the flawless is super flawless. For that pale of skin, I use the Lunatik Cosmetics highlight and contour pallette and the Swamp Queen pallette from Tarte. If it ends up too light, I would use a makeup setting spray (I use the Nyx one) but if the color looks right, I wouldn't risk setting it with spray.

@Sori- I'll ask a couple friends of mine if they have any recommendations for cheap, good quality short wigs for you. I usually use Arda, but I wouldn't classify them as cheap, per se, haha.

@GhiraWar- I think Jaded has pretty much got you covered. My skin has a lot of red undertones as well, while I don't have any freckles my face is red about half the time if not more, haha. Also, when choosing materials, try and make sure your primers, concealers, and foundations are all made of the same base material too. You don't want to use silicone based make-up in combination with water-based if you want it to stay on for an extended period of time. Since silicone is hydrophobic, they won't really blend and set for long-term periods.

It is that time again! Have to start planning the year's cosplays and saving up for materials. First order of business is fixing the collar on my Hawkeye cosplay and finally getting around to doing the bow. I'm probably going to end up trying to make a fake one, since I don't really want to sacrifice either of mine to make them con-safe :\ does anyone have any material recommendations, I don't have the means to do much wood working at the moment, unfortunately.

Does anybody know of good faux fur fabric? I'm trying to cosplay a character with a tan and white tail, but I cannot find anywhere with those colors!

What's the character? When I do tails I actually don't use fabric, I use yarn. If you take a cat brush or some Velcro to yarn it makes pretty good fur. Though it can be time consuming.

@Rainpelt,
I'm cosplaying a character with a bow for sdcc this year so I've recently been looking a lot into making a bow myself and if you don't have the option of wood/metal work, I'd try one of these options-

1. If you live in the US Sports Chalet and Sports Authority are going out of business so you may be able to find a bow in clearence. I know Nerf makes bows so you can probably even find some cheap on Amazon and paint them.
2. Some girls who went to my high school made bows by cutting cardboard to the shape of the bow and spraying it with this stuff that dries like styrofoam to make it 3D (I can't for the life of me remember what it's called but if you Google "cosplay sprayable styrofoam" or something it will probably come up) Then, they just carved the styrofoam, painted it, and coated it in fiberglass resin. I used this method to made the levin sword from Fire Emblem. It's very tedious but probably cheaper than buying an actual bow.

You can also use pvp pipe and worbla but it is a more pricey route.
