There was a post on tumblr ( I think it was a comment of some sick art of karkat in the lava) about how Karkat IS the lava b/c of ~/his boiling red blood of the signless/~
The commenter just said they were being really hopeful, tho. But I think something like that in canon would be pretty cool.

this is my theory.
1: you can be stabbed and survive (glances at terezi)
2: NO DEAD TAG
3: karkat would have died a second or two after hitting the lava (it would cause his blood to boil instantly), it seems like he still is alive-ish while sinking.
4: we see fire and all that jazz but we never see his skin, hair or eyes actually burn

karkat is sort of associated with the genesis frog (knights help the space players with frog breeding, he gave the frog the trolls made "cancer". he also is very close to a space player (kan))
a space player must throw their genesis tadpole into the forge, where it will sink to the core of the planet and be held by echidna until a space players request. this is an important step with creating the genesis frog.
it's mentioned somewhere that echidna wants to talk to karkat.

coincidence? I think not.

JADE: but as it happens that is exactly where it should be!
JADE: my denizen is now guarding it
JADE: as im sure kanaya already knows it will not be released unless you travel there and formally request that she do so

if that's so, then it's convenient that they are on a planet with a SPACE QUEST BED.
if there is any remaining piece of kanaya (probably ashes) i'm betting they're gonna be dumped on the strider/harley dogpile.

A friend of mine didn't get to watch the update until last night.

She was very angry about it.

Enough to threaten bodily harm.

Not to me, even though I kept chanting "please don't kill me".

But I kept trying to calm her down, like a good moirail would do.

But she won't even roleplay with me now; when I asked if she wanted to (because that's how I cope with loss), she said, "No. Everything is dead to me."

I tried to cheer her up by telling her that at least they could all meet Calliope now, but she was all like "---- YOU! THE MAYOR IS DEAD!" and I was all like, "---- you for mentioning the Mayor!!!!!!!!"

And then she was like, "Do you STILL think Gamzee is still in there?" and I was like, "No, not really.

Actually, there's not much in there now.

Wait.

CRAP."

I think that made her snicker a bit.

But she also hasn't seen today's update, so that might cheer her up a little bit.

But I actually liked Aranea at first.

You know, felt like I could relate to her and what she was doing.

Long-winded bookworm whose only real desire is to be something you're not (but hey, who doesn't want to be a freakin' pirate?).

And, you know, zodiac troll and all.

But then she started killing everyone and I was like, "Nope.

You'll get nothing from me but enemies, sister."

(That was an intentional song reference by the way, Shinedown fans.)

And apparently the update has revealed that whoever is/was wearing the Ring of Life continues to stay alive for a few seconds after it's been taken off.

So it's not an immediate return to ghosthood.

I have a question.
Do characters lose their god tier abilites when they die just or heroic deaths unless they revive? I've been wondering because Meenah and Vriska lost their outfits and have not been seen flying in the dream bubbles.
