Has and artist ever 'screwed you over'? How? What did you do about it?
Yep.. dealed with this several times now. I was doing a art trade, I finish 2 pieces for them, and they never finish my piece. Been a month now, and their doing other people's commissions/art trades just fine.

No one ever finishes their sides in art trades. It's gotten to the point where I won't really do 'em anymore ... e.e

I see nothing wrong with shapeshifters. A lot of times people get art of their characters in different forms anyways, if the lineart they want isn't the same species as their character (or at least, I've done that before). Really, I don't think it's an "excuse" to get more art, I think it's a way they are able to get more pieces of art for their character. They still have to pay for the art most of the time, anyways. It's not like they're cheating the system.
Really, sometimes having a shapeshifting character is nice if the original species the character is most of the time is really hard to find artists for.

Completely true! X3 I am totally guilty of this. X3 My first fursona, Springtime Thumper (aka Springer) started off as just a rabbit, but I had a hard time being able to find artists who would do rabbits or had rabbit linearts outside of Easter, I got art of him as a cat by Dawny:

as his first piece of art and I decided because I was doing color-ins of him as every other species other than a rabbit (because there really aren't too many good rabbit editables on Oekaki), I decided to make him a shape-shifter. X3 Plus I wrote a story about him and how he met his mate and there was some sort of spell cast over the land, yadda, yadda, yadda. Not to mention, most people seemed to prefer him as a cat, though I liked him better as a rabbit. X3

I have other shape-shifter characters and let me tell you, just because they're shape-shifters doesn't mean they get a lot of art. I have a dragon shape-shifter and he only has 2 pieces of art aside from his ref. I have a female shape-shifter Kitsune who only has 1 piece of art aside from her ref.

I tend to be very picky/particular, wanting to keep my characters the species they are meant to be, but sometimes I can't resist getting art of a character or my fursona in a line art I like. Like my fursona as a rabbit:

Because I like rabbits. Also, sometimes I have a hard time just getting art of a character so I take art however I can get it if I love them a lot. I often have problems getting art of Aryankha and Texas because they're so hard for people to do for some reason because of certain design elements that aren't symmetrical such as their hearts or Arya's green left paw. X3

So I have no qualms with people in like circumstances who get art of their characters as different species or making them into shape-shifters because of all the art they have of them as different species, to me, it's completely understandable. /end of my contribution to this debate of sorts

It's funny that people mention shapeshifters as a cheap/easy way to get art like it's a bad thing... P: My opinion is who cares, we're all just doing this for fun.

What style (chibi, realistic, artist style, vector, ect) do you love to see your character in the most?

I don't really like anime style. Or chibis for humans, most of the time. Beyond that I love most styles! I've never gotten any vector art of my characters before, come to thank of it.

How does it make you feel when one of your character you really want to get art for from someone is apparently too hard to draw?

Kinda disappointed, but really, the ones I have that are too hard are very obviously hard and I don't blame people for not being able to draw them/not wanting to, especially since they're not even being paid actual money for their efforts.

Its happened to me. This user-who-shall-not-be-named on dA noted me about how much she hated Kida, and that she was a really plain ugly dog. And, the cherry on top, that Kida was stolen from a picture of this random dog she found on google...

Sufficient to say, they got a big fat heaping pile of, "K."

I wouldn't really let it upset me too much, I mean, who gives a crap really? Your characters are for you, and if you let it affect you the badmouther in question has won
