the first time stumpy was to be a first time mom, there was a period of time for her to prepare for her kittens, and although unusual for cats to engage in “nesting”, stumpy did. during this period of time she collected all sorts of things - tabs from soda pop cans, feathers, empty yogurt cups, pretty pebbles, gum wrappers, little balls lost by children, coins, nuts, bolts, screws, tacks, ice-cream sticks, twist ties, straws and rubber bands. to anyone else, it would have seemed strange, but to stumpy, it was just right. even after her first litter was born, stumpy kept some of the items she’d collected - defining her definition of “comfortable”.

gopher lived underground for as long as he could remember (whenever his mother visits, she tends to go on and on about how it isn’t “proper” for a tom of his status to live underground). as a young kit, his favorite thing to do was to go into his own little “groundhog burrow”, an underground place where he could be himself away from his parents and the pressures of clan life. upon reaching adulthood, it stuck with him - now, his favorite pastime is to play “groundhog day” with the clan kits, a game where he peeks his head out of his bigger and better “groundhog burrow” pretending to be a grouchy old groundhog afraid of his own shadow.

acornspirit takes pride in having the biggest, most luscious nest in all of hollyclan, and he isn't going to tell anyone what's in it... ok maybe you can know. he fills it up with downy feathers from prey, making it bouncy and soft. he also uses a collection of different ferns collected from the forest floor, but the secret to it all... is a pinch of catmint! found near twoleg nests, a sprinkle of it can put anyone in a trance, and makes acornspirit's nest the best (at least he thinks it is)!

carmen, nicknamed “cavy” by her mother for her resemblance to a cavy (better known as a guinea pig), is the definition of diffident. she was always teased for her short legs, even though they were caused by genetics, and she lost her confidence in herself. she doesn’t start conversations nor does she outwardly seek comfort from others. she is more comfortable in staying to herself due to the fact that she can barely muster the strength to speak to another cat. she struggles with forming words, she was actually considered mute at one point for she didn’t say her first word until she was over twelve moons old. cavy never knows what to say, whether it’s from overwhelming fear or just general forgetfulness, but she is slowly working on her social skills. as she grows, she is regaining confidence in herself. she astounded her mother by having a previous fling with a tom, but it ended in disaster as her inability to communicate well caused a rift between the two. cavy might have trouble expressing her emotions, but it does nothing to affect her heart. she has a heart of gold and will never let any cat down.

rongeur is very aloof and stuck up, he believes he truly is the best cat to ever walk the planet. he always has his head in the clouds and acts like he has better things to do than talk to whoever is around him. whenever the time for sharing tongues is near, he slinks off to a back corner and claims that he “doesn’t want to catch fleas” from the cats who are “clearly stinky wild cats”. despite his distant personality, he yearns for connection and is often found peering from bushes and watching large crowds when they gather in the main section of camp. he doesn’t want any other cat to know this, of course, but he truly wishes for a true friend. maybe someday he can make one.

Due to this obsession, Amberlight always spends as much time as he can up in the trees, leaping from branch to branch, learning how to climb before any of his other skills were taught to him by his apprenticeship mentor. if someone asks him why he is so enthralled by birds, he would just shrug and make up something or another, but the truth is he loves the freedom that they have, the careless lifestyle they get to live. and so, his nest has always been filled with a multitude of feathers, and he has fun stories about each individual feather. there's a soft goose down feather from when he was an apprentice and a goose chased him away from its nest. there's a magnificent peacock feather that he found right before he crossed the border into celestial beings territory, and he considers it to have been a sign that he was in the right place.

Prompt (200 words max): Plumeburst puts on a strong face; she acts as though nothing ever bothers her. Plumeburst is quite a stubborn molly, one who just shrugs off the rude comments and teasing of other cats based on her oddity. Deep down, she is incredibly insecure, and has grown determined to prove wrong those who have been cruel to her in the past. she will never let anyone see her feeling poorly about her short legs; she may be mentally cursing at herself, but she is gonna put on a wide grin and push forward. the biggest struggle that Plumeburst faces is the location of her clan's camp; it is hidden in an oasis that is surrounded by a red-rock formation from all sides. imagine having to climb the sides of a very steep volcano and then back down the inside wall to the flat cavern at its base; that's how you have to get into Scarabclan's camp essentially. but every day, even when she is not assigned to a patrol, Plumeburst forces herself to climb out and back into the camp; she is certain that if she practices enough, her body will get used to it.

Prompt (200 words max): Crocusjolt absolutely loves being in the company of other cats; he is very much a social butterfly. he never has a shortage of things to say, and if he feels as though the current topic of conversation is growing boring to whomever he is speaking to, he is gifted at gliding between transitions smoothly. some may say has too much energy, but Crocusjolt just says he's an enthusiastic cat, both when he's the one speaking and when he is listening to another. although he never has admitted it verbally to anyone within the clan, this need to be around others stems from the twenty moons of his life being spent wandering the desert alone. born as a loner, his siblings were picked off one at a time by various predators, and eventually his mother was gone as well, leaving Crocusjolt alone. he spent so many moons chatting to himself, talking to random plants and rocks; anything just to keep from living in silence. nights were always the worst for him, as he was truly alone in those hours of darkness, and his mind played tricks on him, giving him horrible anxiety whenever he is now left alone.

Prompt (200 words max): why everything of course! You'd think it meant she wasn't picky, but you'd be wrong. She plans everything out. Weave feathers for strength, wool for softness and lavender for decoration. When she came to mistyclan, she saw such potential for beauty, with the stars shining through pine trees, and a lovely coat of mist, illuminated by fireflies, dancing in the darkness. She began to spruce things up. Helping to redesign camp, weaving thorns on the outsides of dens and walls, while making the insides of dens comfortable and pleasant. She and some other warriors found flat twoleg things, filled them with sand from a nearby lake, and pushed the things into dens, where the ground was covered in soft sand. She wove lavender and other pretty things into the inside of dens, and feathers for kits to play with. She herself loves her nest with a small sprig of heather to remind her of the farm where she grew up.

Ratnose is the outgoing mom type. She takes it upon herself to look after everyone, even if they insist they're fine. She enjoys being in group settings, but only if she's with those she likes, and the entire time she ends up just talking to them. No one is bothered by it, though, since Ratnose is very kind and enjoyable to be around.
