Does anyone know why in The Answer, at the dome place Rose's skin was pink and Ruby's hair and clothes were red? Then on Earth they both returned to their regular colors.

It's probably because of some sort of light.
You know how light and background colors mess with the characters' color palettes owo

Seeing that the show takes place in Steven's point of view, it may be possible that we switched to Garnet's view once Ruby and Sapphire arrived on Earth. I don't really know why, or even if this was the artist's intent, but it would explain why this happened, as Steven was assuming the appearance of everyone/everything in the story, at least in the first half. It's also possible that Ruby got poofed when her and Sapphire fell to Earth, and she changed her appearance when she regenerated. Even if this were true, it wouldn't explain why Rose's skin was pink. In the end though, this was most likely a simple error, or even lighting.

I think from what I read from the crewniverse behind the scenes stuff, they wanted to make the flashback as much like a storybook as possible, with limited colors. Here is the link to the article with this information, it's in the first blurb under the first pictures.

Well, I suppose their outfits would fuse just like if they were 2 different gems, but their bodies would stay the same but bigger...?

I think it is because of the sunset or just the lighting artists may tend to lighten or change the colors during a change in brightness.
