I’m so excited guys! My Breyer rain just came in the mail! I missed my chance when I was younger, but here she is! She’s a little scuffed and rubbed, but I’m not too offended, as she is beautiful to me nonetheless

I absolutely love the rain mold omg. I just ordered lady liberty the other day, and I can’t wait for her!

Next up! Finding a reasonably priced spirit! xD

They are expensive in my country. I think the grey stablemate second from the left is the only one I've bought in Australia, the rest I bought during holidays in the UK, and the shadow box I imported from America because somehow it was a lot cheaper including international postage than to get it off the shelf from a local shop, assuming they had stock and I didn't need to fork out more for local postage. I had planned to open the box but they look so nice in it with the backgrounds I decided to leave them in there.

lilpuppin - Hi! Wow 109 models, that's an impressive amount! How do you keep them all safe without tons of shelves, and if you do keep them on some sort of shelving unit do you know what it's called or do you have any recommendations?

RangerTheCowpony - Love that mold! Her eyes are so interesting since they're in more of a cartoon style, very cool! Where did you buy her from? I've been trying to find somewhere that sells cheap Breyers, other than vintage shops.

Solloby - Your collection is awesome! The box is very pretty, that meadow background looks adorable with the horses. I'm sorry that it's so expensive where you are, I never knew that international shipping would cost so much but I suppose that makes sense since they're already pretty expensive to begin with. I wish I could send you a Traditional or Freedom sized horse to add to your collection!

Everyone - I saw that they just released the middle of the year horses, is anyone planning on getting any of them? Right now i'm in love with the Adiah HP and Crystalline models but i'm not going to get them c:

Getting pretty close to Breyerfest now, I can't wait to see what mold the surprise is on! I've also managed to get a pick up for the crystal model which I'm super happy about, having it shipped to family in the UK though so I won't be able to actually get it till flights reopen and I'm able to return to university - Hoping its sooner rather than later. What's everyones speculations for the surprise mold? Salinero and Giselle are my top two currently. c:

@Rangerthecowpony - Wow, rain is beautiful! I believe I saw a 2002 Spirit the other day on eBay for around 35 USD? I can’t find it now though. All I can find now is up in the 100s... wow. Good luck, hope you get it (for a reasonable price)! I saw the Spirit and Family go for way less though, but it’s not in the cartoony movie style and more like a realistic Breyer. Spirit was one of my favorite movies.

Does anyone have any painting advice for customizing a model? Any paints you prefer to use? I think I’ve seen some people use oils?

@Fallenleaf - I paint models :) I used to work primarily in pastels (earth pigments and panpastels) but I have since invested in an airbrush for airbrushing acrylics. People do use oils for customizing very successfully, as long as the oils are properly thinned down so they don't gunk up and texturize the surface too much. Some of the top hobby artists paint in oils. The best advice for all the mediums is to put the time and effort into properly and thoroughly prepping a horse for paint. I spend a lot of time sanding imperfections, filling divots with apoxie, and giving each horse a good few coats of primer to make sure the surface is smooth, clean, and that the paint/pastel/whatever will adhere to it.
