I hate to say it, but maybe all of this was probably needed?

At least now John will have a really super good reason to kick Caliborn's butt.

I mean, we all knew (or at least I figured) that John would be able to use his unstuckiness in existence to defeat LE/Caliborn while he wasn't much of a threat, thus averting all those deaths.

But, at the same time, any alteration of a past timeline can have major consequences.

We're talking literally affecting the entire timeline so that the game never happened (or hasn't happened yet), the kids grow up to have normal lives, the trolls never meet the kids...

We're talking a lot of stuff that could go horribly wrong for all the right reasons here.

But yes, we are all upset about the update.

Poor Karkat.

He's doomed to listen to Kankri now.
