I'm back with more questions!
Thank you to those who answered my question a while ago :) I've been watering them whenever the soil is dry, or if the plant itself looks like it needs it, and they all seem to be doing well, so I mus be doing something right :P
My little plant family has grown since I last posted, I've added two more succulents, and a tiny little cacti. I'll have to remember to post pictures.

I came across Venus Fly Traps in a local garden centre today, and as our house has a huge year round fly problem, I need these things in my life. I've not seen any for sale before, or I'd have got some years ago.

So, anyone have experience of caring for them? There was a board next to them that said they like moist conditions, and not to force them to close, as it stops them working properly (or words to that affect that make more sense). And that is the extend on my knowledge of their care :P
Any help will be appreciated! Going back to the same place on Thursday, so will hopefully pick up a couple then.

I've never owned any fly traps, even thought I want one. Well, please, don't force them to close; I have a feeling that would be a bad thing. For moistness, I suggest a spray bottle with water and spray them, and the dirt. I think you should put it in a place with sun. When I had fireflies, which also need a moist climate, I sprayed the jar many times a day and kept it in the sun so the water kinda fogs around the jar. Idk if this helped, but I hoped it did!!
70% of the world think warrior cats is stupid. 25% say who cares. Repost if you are part of that 5% that would take a hard cover warrior cat book and slap the other people saying, “STARCLAN IS OUT FOR REVENGE!!”

Dont put fly traps in direct sun, it will kill them. To keep them alive the soil must never dry out so put the pot they are in into a dish that has water in it. Keeping fly traps in a shade house is the best option
Ive also done some research on them since im also going to buy one, they need to go dormant every winter or they will die within 1-2 years

carnivorous plants in general prefer moist soil and partial or full shade. my recommendation for getting a flytrap would be to also get a bucket and put it outside so it can collect rain, carnivorous plants are incredibly sensitive to the chemicals in tap water and will die if constantly watered with it.

i have a pitcher plant which is doing incredibly outside despite living in scotland!

Hello again my friends, i am in need of some assistance

Ive been offered to advertise my little plant buisness in one of the local shops. But the thing is, i do not have a name for my shop

I create succulent bowls/jars and terrariums. I cannot think of a simple but effective name, would any of you have any suggestions?

I was thinking of "fleur"(blossom in french) or "rośaline"(polish for plant) but they dont seem to have the ring to it i would like

i feel bad i took so long to reply, i hope you have had luck coming up with a name, if not i really like the names you've chosen - I think that words from other languages can be really wonderful and unique, and especially if you have a tie to that language. But it's also important to have a name that makes it easy to find your store, i think rosáline is more unique and if someone were to search it would probably be more likely to find your store whereas a search for fleur would result in a lot of french results and possibly other flower and plant-related shops. unfortunately i'm not so creative so cannot come up with any names at the moment but i do wish you the best of luck!

That is quite a good point you made thank you :p i realised what i actually pronounced the word rosélina it didnt quite have the ring to it that i imagined

I think ive settled on "In bloom". It is simple yes, but apparently when i do a google and instagram search there is not a plant shop called in bloom which was odd seeing as it was such a simple thing

Ive asked some people at school for some help so ill see what they come up with lol but again thank you

that sounds really good, i really like it! it makes it obvious what your shop is about, and is very cute!
and in terms of searchability and social media presence it sounds like a good route to go down!

good luck! <3

Guys, I have a problem with some of my cactus. :c On two of my babies are white fluffy stuff. If I touch it it stretch really long or it is only sticky. The one cactus is full of it, the other one not really. I don't know what to do, how to put it off or shouldn't I do a thing? (I mean I waited months and nothing changed)
