Ok, so I found this headcanon about mutant-blooded grubs and its really cool.
This is what it says.

I'd just like to say - I have a headcanon that mutant blooded wrigglers cover themselves with the dust and soot of the cave they were hatched and they hide because their mind tells them bright and unnatural colors are bad because since they're so young, they they think covering it and hiding is the solution. Also, because of this many mutant bloods grow up feral and without a new lusus. Karkat was lucky enough to find his crab lusus with the same blood color as him.

I have another headcanon about mutant blooded trolls, actually! I forget who made it, but it basically revolves around the idea that mutant blooded trolls have very wild and messy horns, and are filed down at a young age. I don't know what's appealing about it to me but I just kind of find it a cool idea. ;v;
