I need help because i fail. sob. I was sketching at 1 am and frolicking around.

I really like this picture. Though I am not that big into anime looking pieces, it is very subtle and easy on the eyes. The colors are soft and really draw the piece together.
It reminds me of the art that is in Ponyo and Kiki's Delivery Service but with your own unique touch. I love the eyes.
All in all, great job!

I would like to start out by posting this picture and getting some critique on it. (No red lines please)

Please note: I did this in MS Paint with a mouse. No smooth lines or anything like that. I don't have a computer so I go down to the library and work with what I got. Lol.

@Kat: Well, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you're aiming for semi-realistic. To start, look at a photo of a fennec fox. It is very hard to draw something when you can't see a photo of it, first. Notice where the back legs bend, you have the ankle, so to speak, far too high. The body looks very thin, and the right front leg looks like it has no bones in it, just by the angle it is twisted. Things in nature generally don't look so bendable. I like the head, though. Very cute!

Now, I'm not really sure if this counts, but it is a craft, which is a bit arty? I sewed myself a hat today, and while I can't really take critique, because it's finished and all, I just thought I'd show you. We don't get a lot of things like this, so...yup!

@tamed. -- It looks very nice, I especially like the shine on the hair. :3 I like the general pose, too~ One thing, I'd say, is work on thinning out the eyebrows. They look a bit thick. ouo

@catastrophic_blend -- That looks really good, especially for a quick little drawing! I have no critique, it's amazing!

@kat754 -- Remember, their legs aren't rubber, they have joints and therefore the bend in them would be sharper. { That's the best way I can describe it o3o } I think the neck and stomach is also skinny; they aren't beanpoles, you can fatten them up a bit! C:

@Stonefly -- Looks like the redlines you've already received cover it all, keep up the good work!

@Muggafinn -- Awh, that's cute!

Any tips on drawing human necks and shoulders from a side/profile view? The subject/topic is a male.
Sorry, I'd show the work so far, but it's on paper and I don't wanna go through the trouble to scan it.

This doesn't show too much of the neck-- or shoulders at all-- but it should help a bit with how to specifically connect the head to the neck.

For other tips-- keep in mind the male's adam's apple. Males also tend to have blockier shoulders. :3
