@mirandaciel: Oh I know you're not shoving it down anyone's throat at all, no one is, everyone's talking calmly and expressing how they feel, :) but I'm aware of how things like this can often go so thought it best to explicitly outline what could happen and to finish anything before it starts if that makes sense. I also wouldn't want any hostility towards a theistic approach to life for example, hence my stressing of 'critical' rather than 'rudeness' - like you've mentioned before it's not Wrong to bring science and religion together to appreciate the world better. I'd also love to see someone try and disprove God comprehensively using science, but lawl that's not going to happen, so no one can be critical of a belief in God using pure observational evidence (although it could be debated but not ruled out if that makes sense?).

Quoted for truth, we'll be defending you, until someone can prove otherwise :)

The religion thread's pretty cool, there's loads of people there with different ideas and someone might have a similar belief system, too.

So for cosmogny, I have a post somewhere :: searches :: actually it's a page stretcher so I'll just link it here. I went back and put in some definitions so it's rather long, but how the universe got to be how it is now is really hard to explain without either equations or waving hands about (don't you find that, that things are easier with hands to wave?) xD

I'm really unsure of what religion I will be in the future, I might even go Atheist. I dunno, but I am not the one to judge anyone.

Thanks! I'll go check that out!

Ha-ha that's funny. When I say future, I mean my adult life. But I think we both need to be careful about our beliefs.

On another note, I have yet another question for you all. :] What is a good use for phosphorus?

Chucking small quantities of it into a lake to create amusingly large explosions!

Or using it in ammunition to violate Geneva conventions.

Re: recent discussion... As much as I am proud of my faith and happy to discuss it, let us leave the religious discussions for the religious discussion thread, please? Else we will get terribly off-topic, and this grumpy wannabe Eastern Orthodox will start foaming at the mouth about how the root of this science vs. Christianity conflict is almost solely rooted in American protestant thought which is more concerned with the veneer of doing something than actually being useful to anybody at any time, anywhere, for anything, and instead is so obsessed with competing with television and other popular media that they have completely rejected the Christian tradition of intellectual thought, because they decided they're just too special to recognize that important things may have happened in Europe at some point.

(cough)

SO, LET'S NOT HAVE THAT DISCUSSION. Thanks for that praeteritio there, Cicero.

That sounds fun! We have a couple lakes here. Now if I can get some.....

For a banner, I would like to use the (current) members pets that they dressed up in the Valentines' Day "Experiment" Set. So fellow members, do you give me permission to do this? Please and thank you.
