FAVORITE ARTIST/BAND?: I guess my profile gives a vague idea lmao
Basically just 90s stuff rip. Not the "iconic grunge albums" though, Ten's probably my least favourite PJ album I've listened to... I like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone, Wellwater Conspiracy, System Of A Down, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica, Sabaton, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Slaves, stuff like that. Starting to listen to more punk stuff, I have The Offspring and things as well
FAVORITE GENRE? Rock/metal/punk stuff mostly. I like a few more synthy/electronic songs though, Whip It by Devo is a massive guilty pleasure and DARE is one of my favourite Gorillaz songs haha
WHY DO YOU WANT TO JOIN? MUSIC. It's one of my favourite things, I always have it with me, my phone has about 1000+ songs on it at this moment and I keep it in my pocket when I go out anywhere c: I love the name of this too, I have a pretty measly collection of records myself but I like having physical copies of my music and records are one of those things haha
ANYTHING ELSE?: Jack Irons was the best thing that happened to Pearl Jam
I'll do this thing too
vinyl, cd, or mp3? you forgot tapesI have to say CD, because they're cheaper than records and easy to rip onto a computer. I like liner notes and being able to hold the album in my hands, but I like the portability of audio files (I have an album in WAV on my phone) on a phone or whatever that can play them and vinyl is just
cool favourite album covers/art?
Haven't actually listened to King Animal, but I love that cover. o:
if you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be? I can't pick that, I'd get sick of it eventually s: But if you had to make me pick then I'd probably go with some older (up till BSSM) RHCP song, the more funky/rap thing over stuff like Under The Bridge
been to any concerts? Not by my most listened-to bands, just a few local gigs in bars that they let under 18s into. They were pretty cool gigs, much better than one band's CD, but they always make the drums about twice as loud as everything else and you can't hear anything until you're totally (but temporarily) deafened to high frequencies by the end of the night xD
how has your music taste changed over the years? I used to not mind stuff on the radio so much, and I liked electronic stuff more, but then when I was about 12 I was happy listening to the likes of Linkin Park's old stuff the whole time. Sickened myself of nu-metal though and I gradually got heavier (never really liked "screamo" though I did hear one Parkway Drive song, think it was Carrion, that wasn't so bad for me) until I found Pearl Jam, now I'd happily sit and listen to Garden or Of The Girl or Present Tense. Off He Goes is one of my favourites of theirs
are there any songs that make you emotional? Uh, probably Garden, actually. No idea, the way the whole thing sounds evokes this feeling in me that I have no words to describe and I end up with my eyes watering and stuff haha
how important are the lyrics of a song vs. the tune/music? I prefer the music, myself. Lyrics can have an impact, how percussive/tuneful the words are can make the song sound better or worse, but I don't pay too much attention to the words themselves unless it's like Off He Goes and I relate to them, then I might like the song more for that. But what gets me hooked in the first place is the melodies and instruments and how they're arranged and stuff
what are your favourite song subjects? I don't know, actually. Anything goes, really. Apart from being all shiny and happy and about love all the time, then it gets boring for me easier. I don't listen to Stargazer by Mother Love Bone much because of it
do you play any instruments? Yeah! I play guitar the most, a bit of bass, I kinda of know how to play drums and I can do some stuff on piano, steel pans and violin. I have a mandolin as well, I'm gonna learn Losing My Religion and Ty Cobb on that haha
