where do people find others to trick or treat? i've gone through most of the people on the lolo applications for this year who had their lights on but plenty of people still visit me so i'm unsure where to find them

usually people use the lolo live list, and try to go through all the players when possible, and most people do re-visits with people that allow them!

For folks who give tricks - what's you're reasoning? This is purely a curiosity thing (I haven't given a trick yet, and I'm not sure if I will): I've run across one person who did it to get you to follow a plot/path sort of thing (can't wait to revisit them, I'm excited to see how the "choose your own adventure" style plays out!) but I know there are people who do it for a variety of reasons

I haven't tricked anyone yet. I'm contemplating doing an RNG system, like coin flipping or something (Perhaps with better odds for getting treats than just 50/50 though) to keep things random. Has anyone here tried that?

I did last year, and it worked pretty well! I'm not handing out tricks this year though, as I'm a one visit house and I'd feel bad handing out tricks cx but usually I use the discord roll bot. Even numbers get a treat, odd gets a trick.

Oh cool! That makes sense though, I have it so people can visit me once every 48 hours, and I've already given out so many treats that I think I need to start doing tricks or I'll be broke, lol!

Generally, its supposed to be a surprise! Some people will send a reply if they do art, but usually with everything else its just random! Also, because they can't enforce people giving specific pets. So like if a gifter were to advertise something and not give to every player, staff likely would get alot of complaints over the entirety of the event. With how many players are active, this just wouldn't be possible to really maintain. Plus, most gifters go by what the trick or treater has in their little bubbles. Many people use it as a guide to give gifts that people will like!

Hope that makes sense! But also It could totally not be any of this, this is just how I interpret it! So if a staff member disagrees totally take their word for it!

I've been playing LOLO for like 5/6 years now and have never heard of the LOLO live list?? Where do I find it?

@( ͡◉ ͜ʖ ͡◉) the live list is linked on the thread right above the regular player list (Forum/viewtopic.php?p=126878469#p126878469), along with a description of it. we started using the live list in 2021, so it's been there for a few years now, but is still a relatively new addition ^^

just wanted to post my tick-or-treater / story here, so that i have a post to link to when people ask to read it! i'm really proud of it this year c:

Adventures in Candyland

"And remember - only FIVE pieces of candy tonight, young lady!" Masari's mother scolded.

Masari, decked out in full unicorn attire, pouted.

Her mother tutted. "No pouting! You know what happens when you have a sugar rush. Now, go have fun and be safe!" She kissed Masari on her little macrame horn and sent her on her way.

The evening was a blast! Masari skipped along from house to house, filling her pumpkin bucket with loads of tasty sweets. She was quick to gobble up her allowed five pieces of candy: three Jolly Ranchers, a lollipop, and a chocolate bar. The rest was meant to go in the cupboard and be eaten little by little. Dutifully, Masari picked up her bucket and began the trek home, but slowly the alluring scent of uneaten candy washed over her nostrils... Hmm. One more little piece wouldn't hurt, right?

Scanning the area quickly, Masari unwrapped a Hershey's Kiss and popped it into her mouth. So delicious, and Mother would never have to know! Maybe just another little piece? Mmm, yum! Empty wrappers began to pool on the ground around her feet. She ate another! And another, and another, and another, and...

Suddenly she found herself on the ground, surrounded by spilled candy corn and feeling rather queasy. Her paws began to tremble lightly. Uh oh. Mother was going to be so angry, and probably ground her forever! Ears twitching, Masari felt her heart rate pick up. Her vision was blurring. The forest started to melt together in a cacophony of color. And the trees... were they... turning pink?

She looked around, pupils darting wildly. Before her very eyes, the clouds turned to cotton candy. The cobblestone path turned to cocoa. The grass turned to gelatin.

Masari gasped. "I'm... I'm in Candyland!"

Her gasp bubbled into a giggle and she sped down the path, hooting and hollering, and spilling her candy all about. She twirled and cartwheeled and rolled in meadows of licorice leaves and fondant flowers. Darting over a bridge adorned with lollipops, Masari soon found herself tuckered out, panting and wheezing as her unicorn costume drooped. What a rush! Slowly, the sugar left her system, and the forest returned to its original state. It was probably time to head home. She shook her fur and picked up her trick-or-treat bucket, but wait - it was totally empty! She had spilled it all!

Masari couldn't return home emtpy-handed. Mother would think she ate all of her candy at once! Frantically, she searched for one last house to bring her bucket to. The sun was setting - she had to be quick. She darted through the woods, rainbow unicorn mane blowing behind her. Finally, she stumbled upon a house she had never seen before, porchlight shining brightly. Smoothening out the fur of her costume and mustering up all of her courage, Masari padded up to the front door.

"Trick or Treat!"
