i never listened to or really liked any of their old music oof

i just see them as close friends/brothers. i don't mind it

- i am not liking their electrohouse genre that they're getting into now, to be honest. i feel like it kind of takes the soul out of their music and makes the beat repetitive and basic ?? idk, it just doesn't sound as nice to me

- i'm not a big fan of many bts title tracks honestly, like DNA, i need u, save me , etc. i just don't think the style is that nice, but some of the other songs on the album that aren't title tracks definitely deserve recognition

- i can understand why so many people love spring day because it's a soft song , etc and is lovely, but to be honest i was disappointed when it came out. the teaser for it was soo beautiful and i was so hyped over it coming out, but.. the actual song was way more pop and less acoustic than i thought, and i was disappointed. if it was more acoustic then i would have totally fallen in love with it

- i love their acoustic songs way more than their hiphop/electrohouse eras

iii. shipping... i understand and support it in a way yet i don't get it? some people see the ship as friends, others as story driven 'couples' in bts, or flat out romantics. for example yoonmin [don't get me wrong, it's really cute], but how some people see them as friends or as romantics confuses me. ;a;

im a huge yoonmin shipper and i'd like to see them as romantics but i mostly ship them because they're so close with eachother. it seems like they have a really good friendship but i also think they could be actually more than friends. but who knows lol

Oof, it's been so long since I've paid attention to any BTS content, but I did recently watch the recent video with JK's "Euphoria" song in it. Is this going to be the next intro to their next Love Yourself album (like how last time it was "Serendipity" with Jimin)? Because if so, I'd be down for that. It sounds really good so far!

Since everyone's sharing their opinions, I'll just add some of my own: I'm someone who likes more vocal-oriented songs (being someone who usually listen to slow, sometimes ballady-ish songs in her free time). This doesn't mean that I don't like rap. I just don't want it to be too rap-focused. Therefore I don't really listen to their older songs (as in majority of their songs from their first two albums) and usually listen to more of their recent songs. This is also why I find I Need U, Spring Day, and Save Me to be some of their best title tracks.

I personally don't care much about the lyrics, whether they're bragging or not. I can't understand the language, and usually when I'm listening I'm only focusing on the melody and vocals (and rap), not so much on the meaning. So whether they're singing about stuff with deep meanings, simple love songs, or bragging about their status, I don't mind as long as the music itself is something I can comfortably listen to.

Was it really? I know it was released around the time they were gaining a lot of international attention, so it makes sense it went big. However, I thought the general consensus was that DNA wasn't as good as their previous comebacks (Wings, HYYH).

My favorite album is Wings, and I think most of the songs in BTS - Love Yourself are overrated (sorry!)
I do think people ship them too much because their love is at most a bromance in my opinion. My favorite ones are Yoongi and Jin/Jimin and Hoseok

There are for sure lots of overrated songs - DNA (visuals amazing, song could have been better), I need u, save me etc.

and there are many underrated songs that I wished had music videos - Outro: Wings, House of Cards, Let Go, Best of Me etc.

I agree. I don't really care if they're bragging that much (unless that's literally in every song) but I respect whatever they make. I can kind of understand the language so I know what they are saying 15% of the time, but it doesn't make me that uncomfortable unless the lyrics are really cringy. If the melodies are good though, I'll usually keep listening to the song.

i completely agree with you, on both parts, but i honestly feel kind of bad that the rap line is being under appreciated when i say i like vocal oriented music better. like i think their vocals are beautiful but the rap is intrusive and out of place at times - ahh this sounds so bad hhh ;; i appreciate them and i know they work really hard for us but that is how i feel for some of bts' songs.

also this is unrelated but i'm so excited for their next comeback because it'll be my first as a fan! I guess i kind of joined the fandom before love yourself was released but it was after serendipity and the highlight reels were released so i don't think i was really there for the whole thing but i will be for this one and i'm so hyped aaa

bts is one of the few groups that manages to hype me up. I joined when blood sweat and tears had come out so when spring day rolled around I was really excited! the fandom made it even better, there wasn't a day that passed where it was spent in boredom, just fangirling over teasers with other ARMYs. ahh I just wanna say that I really love ARMYs and the amount of love they give bts !
