hi, so i'm procrastinating for my homework and i came up with some kind of theory for this whole BTS era.

in all the BTS music videos ( which are all linked as we've all established), the members always go through some dual experiences with bad, and equally good ones. for example in "i need u" they go through emotional distress , hobi through pills , jimin through the weird bath tub thing, tae accidentally killing someone etc. but at the same time it also plays happy memories to when the boys were together and having fun together. this brings me to my second point, jin was a special one this series. he was always the odd one out - when the boys were going through distress, he was placed as holding white lilies, surrounded by white lilies. placing flowers. just different. then i searched up what the meaning of white lilies was, and this is what i found:



While white lilies symbolize chastity and virtue – and were the symbol of the Virgin Mary’s purity and her role of Queen of the Angels – as other varieties became popular, they brought with them additional meanings and symbolism as well. Peruvian lilies, or alstroemeria, represent friendship and devotion



can i just highlight: "chastity and virtue" and "Virgin Mary's purity" and "friendship and devotion". as we all can see they all connect back to BTS' music videos, as you can see the "chastity and virtue" in the happy days when they were having fun, and a lack of chastity and virtue in the darker parts, while you can also talk about the "purity" of the old days, when they were younger, and just having fun with their friends. and of course "friendship and devotion" as you can see when they're together having fun, helping each other etc. so this might be a stretch but i drew the connection of jin being the oldest hyung, how he kind of has a responsibility to take care of all of the members and make sure all of them are okay. he also probably feels most like a parent wanting to protect all of his "children" or the members. when he's seen with all the lilies, and flowers, he is metaphorically surrounded by all the younger members, and he's torn knowing they're all going through really hard times and hardships while he doesn't know how to help. this is HIS own struggle, and he's kind of the different one out of all of them as he wants to try to fight everyone's battles while each of them are fighting their own. anyways he wants to help them get out of their hard times but he doesn't know how, which brings me to the theory of jin trying to turn back time. i've heard this somewhere and i figured out it kind of fits? he ends up wanting to turn back time because he wants to return the boys to the young days, the innocent times when they were all happy. when there was nothing to worry about and this trauma hasn't started yet. he wants them to become happy again like in the times before. this is his responsibility he feels, as the oldest and the parent of the other members. this is kind of supported by their album title "the most beautiful moment in life" that they would want to stay in.

in addition the phrase "boy means WHAT" as i think we already figured out turns to -> 1. Wonder 2. Her 3. Answers 4. Tears. this is the sequence that their story will follow, "Wonder" and "Her" being the happy times when they were young, shown by the happy music videos of jimin's "Serendipity" and the fun the boys were having during the second part (?) of jungkook's "Wonder". however we're going to get into the darker parts soon with "Answers" and "Tears" as i think something will be revealed soon as @seokie said maybe jin's "secrets" are going to be revealed. as per the phrase "hyung, is that it? there's more you're hiding from us, isn't there?" which will be uncovered in the "Answers" part. as for afterwards, i'm not sure and i don't know where it's going to go from there. maybe jin is the hero or maybe my theory's all wrong and he's the villain trying to sabotage everyone. i'm not sure ! and no one is because bighit is a tricky bbboi.

anyways that's my theory, damn i wrote more for this than i wrote for my essay in the past 24 hours. aoh well this is probably super long and uninteresting and probably wrong too !! but here we go. aiiiiiiight///

unpopular opinions !
maybe some of y'all will find this offensive, but i'm generally just curious to see if anyone shares / understands my unpopular opinions. in no way is this meant to bash bts, i think a lot of their music is great. again, these are unpopular opinions.
*realize that other groups may fit into some of my statements but i'm only going to mention bts specifically (except for the last two).

- i really dislike songs that boast, which is generally why a lot of western songs, mainly hiphop, don't appeal to me. hence, i'm not a fan of mic drop.

- for popular idol groups such as bts, a song charting high has nothing to do with how good the song is. even if they released a horrible track, it's bound to debut great on the charts.

- i don't like fire, or blood s&t. save me was easily their best title track that year.

- bts is not all that special for writing their own songs ?? maybe for the lyrics they write specifically, but not the act. i mean, good for them because the songs are great, but it's not a unique thing like some fans make it out to be. groups such as bap have been making their own songs for years and from what i've seen, rarely does anyone care or give them respect for it.

- i don't really want a full on exo x bts collab ?? mostly because their styles are very different and i don't think they'd mesh well musically ??

please do not try to call me an antifan. these are just opinions that seem to not be shared with the majority. *if there seems to be a negative response or any of you have a problem with this post, i'll delete it.

- dna was overhyped tbh. the song to me is good, but there are so many more underappreciated tracks

- i reaaaally don't like war of hormone. the tune and the beat is catchy as hell and the mv looks hella good but the lyrics make me really uncomfortable and imo they're really cringey

- i think there should only be one main dancer in bts and i KNOW this is bad of me to say but that position really belongs to j-hope. maybe i'm saying this because i'm biased but hobi helps people with choreography & he's officially the defacto leader for dance in bts. jimin is amazing too because he did contemporary which is really difficult but in the end, even he recognizes hobi as the best dancer. i'm probably gonna remove this opinion at some point lmao

I agree with you on War of Harmones. The lyrics are just a no no for me. Mic drop had a great beat, but I feel like it was unnecessary for the lyrics to be about bragging

@seokie aa thanks for that peaceful disagreement. i was honestly worried that someone was gonna hate on me, lol. honestly?? unpopular opinions are my favourite. edit. i can see what you mean about the main dancer position. i can kind of relate, and going off of that, i think hoseok is main, and jimin (possibly jungkook) are lead dancers. most of the time, i think there's really only ever one main dancer in a group, the only exceptions i've found is with groups that have a lot of members such as nct, exo, and seventeen.

mm. i fully agree with you on dna and war of hormone ! i don't listen to wofh anymore (because i tend to loose interest in title tracks after a while) but if i didn't look at the lyrics, it was nice to listen to.
