What do you do if you're given something as a gift, but you already own it?: Give person a big cheesy smile, hug them, tell them I love it, because otherwise my mom will be mad, and then afterwards, depending on what it is either give it to library/Goodwill (Book), Keep it (toys) or give it to my friend (games/books sometimes)

What do you do if you're given something as a gift, but you already own it? I can't really say because that's never actually happened to me. The one time it did (my mom gave me a ton of books once but I already owned three of them), I kept the gifts because I absolutely love the series and two copies are better than none (or one). Art supplies I always welcome so I don't count that as "doubling gifts". Pretty much anything else, I guess I'd return it or give it away?
