One,I'd really like some friends for my Science Dork

Loads.That's basically all you'd have to say to understand how much energy she has.Grey is constantly bouncing off the walls and messing with stuff,usually resulting in a crash when she finally calms down enough to sleep.She likes to run out in the yard and attempt to catch any small animals there(bunnies,squirrels,etc),but never catching any.When asked by Nea "What do you plan on doing if you catch one?",she just shrugs and walks off.She's really interested in science,learning how things work.It's the only class that she shuts up in long enough to learn anything

I also had a cute idea for Combat.
My thinking is most kids are scared of him,and Id like for him to know one kid that really admires him and acutally likes being around him.

-He is very calm and collected.He acts very level headed and tends to keep to himself.He can't speak at the moment,due to
the stitches keeping his mouth shut,but tries his best to communicate with facial expressions,nods,and head shakes.

If both parents have edits, should they automatically get edits or roll like everyone else? I've noticed some other species kind of doing it different and it was said; "it wouldn't make sense if edited parents have unedited babies." I really want to know people's opinions on this matter!
I'm kinda conflicted on this, however I'm leaning more toward the rolling method. It kinda removes the negative aspect of breeding RPW's with hair edits just to get babies with hair edits, I've seen that in a couple other species and it's kinda a bad thing to do to be honest, so yeah, I'd much prefer the rolling actually.

Are there any rules that seem out of place or poorly explained?

I feel like family lineage should be taken into consideration too. Quite honestly, I think the rolling system needs to be fixed to something more accurate, but for this I think that yes, they should automatically get edits, unless they have biological parents/grandparents or other family, and their traits {or lack there-of} should be added.

I think that the edits should be automatic. Like other people have said, it wouldn't make sense from a scientific perspective and simply because two edited parents shouldn't have unedited pups. Although I do think it would be cool to have a pattern of inheritence for later generations, so that grandpups would get edits based on their grandparents and rolls.

I agree with these two, inheritance should also be included with the grandparents, since, again, from a scientific perspective, the grandparents would have genes passed on to the parents, even if they aren't phenotypes (meaning the genes show).
Markings and colours from the grandparents could be included too, and should be more likely to show up than edits from the grandparents.

Uhh, I'm going to take the realistic way like Daring mentioned -- I don't think so. My memory is a bit rusty and I only have pretty basic knowledge of genetics, so bear with me. x_x Let's say hair is a dominate trait. There's a 2nd gen RPW who has hair, but one parent had hair and the other did not. Let's say they are heterozygous for hair, so parent A's alleles would be Hh. Then, let's say the other parent, parent B, is a 2nd gen and assumed to be heterozygous for their hair, making their alleles to be Hh. Even though they both have hair, it does not mean that there is a 100% chance they'll have offspring with hair. So, let's say I made a Punnett square to show this. There would be a 75% chance of the offspring having hair. There is still a 25% chance that a kiddo would not have hair! I found a lovely Punnett square calculator if you'd like to try it out. Here ya go. Just make the square the smallest and simplest possible -- a 2x2 square. Make sure both parents have the alleles Hh and that you click for the upper case H is dominate.
Also, there have been a lot of recent events and with the store opening, there are a lot of margins to get edited RPWs. I mean like, if every RPW is edited, then how are they unique? Honestly, I'm all for the rolling. It is more fair and realistic. I personally wouldn't enjoy seeing ALL edited RPWs around.

I agree with Snow! Genes should be factored into breeding and litters so that it makes more sense, but I think that it could be a little complicated for us to integrate science into it. The artists and everyone else participating wouldn't know what's going on, so we'd definitely have to simplify it a little. Besides, it could be a little unfair?

Like I said before, and like how shsl programmer said in this post, it could be a little unfair. This way, though, it doesn't really make sense, and it is a bit too strict for my tastes and 'takes the fun out of it'. So, I've compiled some pros & cons for automatic edits:


PROS:
- Makes sense
- Not as confusing/easier on artists
- More enjoyable
CONS:
- Can be seen as unfair




However, before we move on, I'd like to propose this, since I've been talking about it; making it scientifically accurate. It can be made more understandable to others by not really getting into the details of genetics, and just saying that, depending on whether they're heterozygous (Tt) or homozygous (TT or tt), there's a 1/4 chance instead of getting the percentages too small.
That way, it's more enjoyable because the edits are more likely, fair since they're still rolling, it makes sense, and it should be pretty much easier for the artists!

I'm sorry if this post seems really long to some and it turns this into a debate (I already gave an opinion on this before, but it's changed so). I just think this way everyone wins, and it's more fair. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think that if parents have the edits, the children should get the edits. Like others have pointed out, edits should only be rolled if only one parent has that edit - but if both parents have the same edits like hair or wings or edited fur in some form, then the pups should auto get them. That would make more sense.

I don't really like the rule of nursery artists not being able to do their own litters. As a nursery artist myself, I find this a bit too unfair. I roll all my litters fairly, and enjoy doing my own litters, due to the fact that with half of them, I wouldn't be comfortable with other artists breeding them - with most of them I imagine designs that can come from them, and that I want them to have, but they can't have those designs if I don't make them. This really limits it and makes my job as a nursery artist not so enjoyable.
