I've started buying most of my wigs from Arda. I've had some issues with eBay wigs being too wefty and thin for sculpting, and lately most of my costumes have involved really stylized custom wigs. Arda is a US-based (so super fast shipping) wig seller that has very full wigs and sells extensions in all of their colors, so I can buy the wig and all the extensions I need to shape and style.

However if my costume involves a more basic wig then yeah I totally still use eBay. If it doesn't require styling then it's not a disaster if an eBay wig comes in a little lower quality ^_^

Arda is super expensive, especially for those who live outside the US, but i've heard they are super good quality though.

Yeah my recommendation for Arda only really extends to US cosplayed I suppose xD But since I do live in the US it's the most reliable option.

But most of Arda's wigs aren't more than like 40ish bucks, so it's not THAT much more expensive than ebay, where I usually spend like 25/30? I dont think a 10 or 15 dollar difference is that bad considering the huge leap up in quality. The only exception is some of their really long wigs are up to 65/70, and you can find long ones on eBay for like 30 or 35 in comparison. Thankfully I haven't had to buy any of those xD

the NZD to USD exchange rate isn't that great, (usually $1.5NZD to every US dollar I managed to get all three of the wigs I needed for last year's cosplays, for the same price as it would for me to get an arda wig I was looking at for one of my cosplays last year. so something that costs like $40 for you would end up costing me something like $60

NZ cosplayers do recommend arda, but most of us who are cosplayers are students, who usually can't afford to pay that much for a wig. So we sit and stare longingly at the site full of pretty wigs.

been working on magical girl inspired fem cat noir
struggling a little with the mask though - can't find a good template - and not really experienced enough at making masks to try and make my own.

Where do you cosplay? Wellll, I've only actually done it once, but my brother does a lot. He's gone to all sorts of places, movies (that's where I went), Armageddon (A NZ comic con really), dressup day at a Drama holiday program, he even got asked to appear at a friend's birthday party
Do you buy your costumes, or make them yourself? We make out costumes, my brother does a lot out of foam, though he did make a Kylo Ren costume with Mum's help
What was your first costume? My first (and only so far) costume was of Princess Liea for the recent starwars movie (My brother and I were the only ones in costume so we got free popcorn)
What is your favorite costume that you've done? I quite like my Liea one. :D Out of my brother's costumes, his Kylo Ren one would have to be his favorite. Or his The Man in Black from Princess Bride.
What is your favorite costume that you've seen someone else do? Hmm, I've seen some pretty good Red vs Blue cosplays. There's a really great Felix one around, and though I dislike the character (He's a douchebag) the cosplay was awesome.
