My rats enjoy exploring, so anytime we empty a cereal box of whatnot I cut a bunch of holes in it and let them play with that. Usually it's like a field day, because I'll have the boxes and some tubes.
My rats love food, but when I checked games for rats a few weeks ago I found a site that said they might enjoy a game that involves chasing. Like a peice of yarn of string. Just use it to drag in front of them and see if they'll try to catch it.
One I can't wait to try is the pea bobbing game :3

If you feel like putting some effort in you can try building a labyrinth out of old cardboard boxes. My rats love to run in labyrinths

I tried dragging a piece of string on the floor, one of my rats was interested for a seccond then got bored and escaped down the side of my wardrobe lol. I don't think my rats ever played before I got them :/
I could try making a labyrinth or something. But i will need to get some box's first :)
Sorry for my slow response time on RP's. My new job steals ALL my time. :(

Have you ever had a rat?: :3
I have not. ;o; But, I am getting two when I get back from the US sometime in June. I also have many friends with rats and I just adore them. They're really smart animals. >w<

Show me another picture,
I'll try my best to see,
What happened to us baby, I've lost my memory.
I understand your worry, this doesn't feel the same
But I won't give up, I won't give up,
I'll try by best to see.
I don't wanna be sorry, I don't wanna give in,
I just wanna remember what it was like back then.

Oh, the mazes are fun. I made one for my science fair, and I still use it. The rats seem love it, they get physical, and mental exercise. The only problem is that sometimes they get a bit scared, so it's hard to pull them out, so I would suggest large openings.

My dad made a maze for my rats before - put plexiglass on the top with a single nail smack dab in the middle of the maze so if one of the rats got scared we could push the plexiglass lid and get the rat out ^^
Might actually get back into building those with dad so we could sell them since he gave my old one to a friend for his mice - plus my rats need something to have fun in! I loved hiding pieces of chicken in the maze and watching them find it.
