i think there's something wrong with my cat and im hoping for the best but right now, he's showing the same signs Lionel had before we were forced to put him down.

We're broke, like always, so i don't want to mention anything to my mom right now in case its nothing serious. But i need to get money to get him checked out by a vet as soon as possible. And the vet we normally go to chargers about $50 just for a basic check up.

i've had my baby for 10 years now. im really worried and idk what i'd do if i lost him. He's gotten me through so much stuff in my life. I'm really worried (as are my close friends) that if he's gone ill revert back to how i used to be, or even worse than that, and i really don't want that to happen.

im just really scared that we'll have to put him down like we did his little brother because we didn't have money to help him.

How/when do you decide that you need to cut back on characters? If you do cut back, how do you pick which ones?
I decide I need to cut back when I'm not giving them enough love or attention. When they aren't getting the love or attention they deserve, I gather them together and sell them.
As for which ones I choose, I choose the ones I don't use/love and care about enough.

As for the whole "Betraying them" thing, I tell myself that it's okay because they are going to better, more loving homes. It's not betraying them if you're giving them a better life. :3

How/when do you decide that you need to cut back on characters? If you do cut back, how do you pick which ones?
When I start neglecting a few characters or forgetting I even had them is a good indicator that I need to cut back. I have a fairly large amount of characters but I can name and recognise every babe I currently own. Though when it comes to cutting back, I tend to look at the characters who haven't been getting art or haven't been developed and start from there.
I completely get the whole 'betraying them' thing all of them time, but when I realise they're going to a nicer home where they will be loved, that thought kind of goes away.

made a new character! his name is milky's ink, or just milky

he's something called an inker and his head is about the size of the milky way galaxy (in his immortal form, in his mortal form he is about the size of an average wolf).
i might make inkers a caaa-only species or a closed species on dA.....idk. they're guardians of each galaxy that live in space and are generally insane that have jewels that give them ink. they use this ink in their particular area to paint the void of space.
galaxies that morph together create hybrid inkers, which will hold some traits of the parent galaxies and are most often have more heads, limbs, eyes, and/or tails.
the jewels they wear, which can be anywhere on their body though some places are rarer, create the ink in their body

If I find out I really dislike a characters design after drawing them once or twice, I tend to sell/trade them off.
For the rest that I don't always draw, I try to develop them more once in a while. If I can't make it work, it's off to selling/trading.
I have an easier time picking out who I've lost connection with, since I always put them through those "trials."

You have to really make sure you don't want the character anymore, though. Once it's sold, it's the other person's character. If you're still even slightly attached but have no use for them, try to find them a home with somebody you know is more reliable. I find it helps when I know a character I've sold/traded/adopted out has gone to a better home. I'm always happy to see my former characters and designs floating around. <3
