ahh don't really have the time/energy to comment, but you guys always have such nice ocs !

How do you deal with art stealers?/How do you deal with character-theft problems? What are some ways to prevent it?

tbh confrontation makes me very nervous so uhhh
i would probably report the user w/ evidence to show ?
i add loads of watermarks and don't share a lot of artwork of my ocs a lot of the time so i haven't really experienced this

Compared to last year, how many characters do you now own?
Have you increased or decreased in the amount of characters?

i probably had around 350 - which is the same-ish as now, i think? i don't really get new characters that much these days ;v;

What is your favorite way to get characters? (I.E buying them, winning them, etc)

form competitions force me to develop a character, and tbh i love developing ocs so im p chill w/ them
however theres always an issue of competition

i don't think it purely has to be visible
for example, i often talk to my rl friend about my ocs
some of my ocs i definitely draw/write more than others - even within a group of characters i feel a particularly strong connection too at that moment. but i still talk about them, think about them imagine pmvs/amvs, imagine silly scenarios and i even dream about my characters a lot. just because im not necessarily producing something for an oc at the current moment of time does not mean i love them any less [oftentimes, it's literally that some ocs have a lot of songs that fit them, and i love drawing to music so...]
and also, i often don't even show my art/writing outside some of my friends, so you cant really tell how much someone uses an oc 'visibly'
and tbh sometimes people just don't have the time or motivation to develop some of their ocs. it doesn't mean they don't care for them - they just haven't gotten that one idea they'll really love yet or maybe they're waiting until school's over to develop them. i dunno

How do you deal with art stealers?
Report them. If they genuinely don't know what they are doing is wrong then I also comment/note them and explain why it is wrong and give them some pointers on how to start drawing their own art.

How long have you been a member of CAAA? Have you seen any artists improve while here?
Since before it started kinda? I was a part of the BCAA which this stemmed from. Thats over 4 years and I have seen everyone improve <3

How do you come up with character names?
Either they just hit me or I google names with certain meanings.

What is your favorite way to get characters? (I.E buying them, winning them, etc)
It used to be buying, but now I almost prefer to make my own characters.

What is your most prized character[s] of all times? C:
I'd say either Kajitsu or Seth. Art by Winter and Arukardis respectively.

What do you look for in characters?
That kind of 'click' with them, something that lets me know i'm going to use them and love them. Designs, colors, etc. all play a part, but it really just comes down to how I connect with them.

How did you come up with you fursona?
About 7 years ago I saw her in a dream and she's been with me ever since. She went through a couple small changes(main fur color got lighter and necklace turned into a collar) but she has mostly stayed the same since then.

What kind of color palettes do you like?
Pink/sky blue/tan or white, hot pink/orange/white, white/black/rainbow or unnatural color, turquoise/lime green/white.

How do you deal with character-theft problems? What are some ways to prevent it?
Report them with evidence of me owning the character. I don't really do anything to prevent it, I like to share my characters and that comes with a risk. It's the same with my art, I sign it most of the time but sharing it comes with an inherent risk, I just like sharing it more than I hate the risk of it being stolen.

I believe if you actually care about a character it shows in how you talk about them. A lot of my most loved characters are mentally loved between me and a friend and I don't draw them much because they feel so real to me and I'm afraid of losing them.

I love making them~ Usually i make them for other people to try and buy, but i end up keeping it for myself oops;;

absolutely not! it can be completely unseen. for the most part, I don't share much about my characters. some of them don't even have art pieces. but I spend most of my waking hours developing them in my mind. they're what keeps me tethered.
